There is nothing to report as yet regarding a new version but rest assured CrazyTalk remains an important part of our product line-up.

They are still accepting suggestions and bug reports for CTA3 in the feedback tracker.
I made a few suggestions last month which have been assigned for inclusion 😊

There is nothing to report as yet regarding a new version but rest assured CrazyTalk remains an important part of our product line-up. Ok, but the reason I asked the question is that I'm not so assured. I can tell from the ads I'm receiving you guys are VERY interested in CTA and iClone. But I hear nothing about CrazyTalk. But ok, you haven't canceled the product, so I'll accept that as good news. I know everybody has their wish list and there's no way to implement it all. That admitted, I believe a single upgrade could dramatically expand the power of CrazyTalk. And that is, the ability to deal with faces which are smiling, the vast majority of photos of faces. I'm a really avid fan of CrazyTalk, one of my favorite apps for sure, but I can't use it on at least 90% of photos. So I hear you saying this will be fixed immediately and a new version with this upgrade will be released next Wednesday, and that sounds good to me. :-)

Hi phil_78, I couldn't agree more. CTA and iClone are good, but they couldn't do what CrazyTalk is capable of doing. An interesting talking head can be a frontend to a lot of intelligent "bots", or creating avatars for VR.

Sometimes products have to take a back seat for a while so priority can be given to others. It doesn't mean a product is cancelled though.

Are you aware of any interest by the developers in overcoming the limitation I referenced above, the inability to use photos showing teeth? I suppose you can't talk about whatever you are aware of, but I thought I'd give it shot anyway, just in case.

You can try to fix the image in Photoshop or some other graphics program by moving the lips over the teeth and trying to fill in the gap with skin. It will work sometimes.

If you are working with 2D heads you can use the "Force Close" option for the mouth. Please see HERE for instructions and for some tips on levelling the mouth to counter smiles.

Thank you for this tip. I seem to have overlooked that option. I've been too busy complaining to see it I guess. :-( I've started testing it and will continue to see how many photos I can rescue. A step in the right direction at the least!
