Hi guys: Smile

I started working on another illustration the other day and my wife asked...
"Why can't you do a 'nice' one? I'll bet you can't do something that isn't 'icky'."
Of course, I immediately said, "You're on!!" So I put some thought into it and came up with this little story.
Hope you like it as it's a bit out of my norm. I call it "The Arranged Meeting"

No monsters?  Don't be too sure.  "Nice" is relative.

The brunette is telling the blonde about what a nice guy her brother is, and the blonde is clearly smitten with him.  This could be the begining of a beautiful relationship.

However, little did the blonde know that the brunette and the guy are not brother and sister, but are actually lovers who are also master theives.  They've been plotting to nab the royal gems, and after many months of planning have designed the perfect heist.  Step one of that plan is to gain the trust of the princess, which will give them the access they need to the castle.  Another part of the plan is to leave behind subtle clues, which look like flaws the the execution of the heist, that implicate a neighboring kingodm.  The end result will be an angry king, potential war, and a princess with a broken heart.

No monsters?  Monsters come in all shapes and sizes.

Nice composition. Adhering to the rule of 3rds Smile I figured this was picture 1. Picture 2 was the sea monster coming out of the water. Picture 3 was full on carnage with blood and body parts thrown around everywhere! Smile Smile Smile

Yes, I agree the monster is in the water, and the people out on the lake are going to need a bigger boat.  The minstrel is singing "Farewell and adieu to you Spanish ladies." JAWS meets Loch Ness anyone?  Let's go swimming! Tongue

Nice!
Just ask wifey, is there anything, at all, icky about this one....
And whatever it is that she tells you is icky about it, that is GOLD!
That would be your main storyline right there.

But if she says, no, nothing icky, ask, "So you tell me, what if anything might they be worried about?"
Whatever she says, again - GOLD.

Thanks for the comments guys. Smile I appreciate them.
There were some good stories in there I hadn't even thought about. Vikings story sounded like he had a pitch to the movie studio ready.
I can hear the head of production at Warner Bros. right now, "A great story! Let's make that puppy!"

The wife liked it. She liked the ripples in the water and she liked the princesses blonde hair (it reminds her of our granddaughter Ari.)
She thought the musician was going to break her heart. I told her the saying when I was playing in bands: "Guitar players are okay but don't date a drummer.."

Walt: I was thinking it'd be funny if he was singing "Why Don't We Do It In The Road" Tongue

You're right Werner. I love that character. Again I must give you some of the credit for this one, I can't even think of a better occupation for the young man
in the illustration to have, it is perfect for him.

Cool pete

Nice work Pete. Smile

No monsters? I seriously doubt it. There's an apple eating snake lurking in the tree, and the brunette is going for a bath - if she likes it or not - as she doesn't fit into the story. BigGrinHeheLaugh
