Hi, I've watched the tutorial on adding bones and searched the forum, but haven't found a solution. I've created a custom character using an elasticfolk. Without going into too much detail, I want to add bones to the front hair so I can animate it. It's not normal hair, it's more like a beard coming out of the character's mouth. I can add bones without a problem and rotate them in preview. The problem is they don't attach or connect with the sprite, even though I made them right on top of the fronthair sprite. Is the problem because the fronthair is part of the face? Appreciate any help.

If you created an extra bone for it, click the bone then add the sprite using the Sprite Editor. Or you can attach it as a prop.

thanks vepop. The bones wouldn't attach to the fronthair. The fronthair wouldn't appear in the sprite editor, so I ended up deleting the original fronthair and bringing in a new prop, which did attach. My guess is the problem was that the original fronthair was part of the face, my new prop is part of the body. I'm kind of new to this prog, I appreciate your help.

the problem I have now is that the hair won't attach to the face. So I can either add and attach bones to the hair, but it won't attach to the face (it looks fine until I move the face and the hair doesn't follow) or I can attach hair to the face, but I can't add and attach bones to it. I don't know if I'm making sense. I basically want something like a beard with bones that i can move. I want it attached to the face like an accessory, but want to be able to move the non root parts independently. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Can I see the type of hair you're talking about? Then, I'll experiment myself for the answer. Thanks

in case it's not obvious, I'm talking about the black beard like thing coming out of his mouth. btw, I started a new thread because I wasn't sure if you would come back to this one.

Will you animate the mouth? What happens to the hair then?

yes, I'm animating the mouth for speaking (have modified the mouth sprites provided by CT) and I won't necessarily move the beard all the time when he speaks, but want to be able to move the beard when he shakes his head, moves fast, etc. I want 3-4 bones in the beard, with the root in his mouth, then one that goes horizontally and then 2 going down to the tip.
