Hi Spaceman - Happy New Year!  It stands to reason that as long as you follow all the same development/design rules (meaning, I think, primarily - starting with the supplied template and respecting the layer naming requirements) that you would if you were using either Photoshop or Affinity Photo and exporting your design as a PSD file, then you should be fine using Affinity Designer too, since PSD is one of the standard export options.

I've got both Affinity apps and upgraded to Pipeline a few months back, but have been putting off experimenting with creating my own characters - until now.  I did a brief test earlier using Designer, exported the PSD file and brought it into CTA.  In spite of the fact I haven't actually read any of the "G3 Character Creation White Paper" and really don't know what I'm doing(!), I managed to get a rudimentary character into Composer Mode.

I really must go read that white paper now…

I've no problem with PSD export/import using Affinity Designer after installing the quick fix for PSD export features.
But certain characters are still having problems eg. cats.

Thanks guys and happy new year!
I've been using Drawplus 8 and exporting each body part to Affinity Photo using the PSD template which is a massive time saver for character creation, turning all my G2 characters to G3.

To be able to create a character in one program (designer) and export straight to Crazytalk would speed up the process even more. And its on sale.
Thanks for your input guys, I think I will take the plunge.

Those characters in your signature look great! Do you have a link to some of your work?

Hello Rick
Glad you like the characters, they are from an adult cartoon I am working on! A very rough inappropriate and possibly offensive pilot episode is here.
(but learnt so much making it!!)
I have now gone back to the drawing board and I am creating a better animated first episode over the next few months.
Thanks
Save the Spaceman.
