Is anyone else having trouble with this? I load a Little Mates (or Harvey) character, bring it into composer & then try and launch it into Photoshop. Does not matter if I set it to two files, one file or lower the scale. It tells me that vector will be converted to image, I ok that and press launch. CTA crashes every time. The Reallusion G3 characters all work fine, but I was really hoping to be able to change some things on my Little Mates. I wondered if this was a copyright issue, but Garry says no, it should work.

Interesting… Literally just a few minutes ago, I found the same thing. I recently upgraded from Pro to Pipeline and was trying the Composer > Launch To External PSD Editor functionality for the first time. I used one of the standard Elastic Folks Male characters the first time and had a poke about the layers panel. This was just curiosity, I wasn't actually making any changes this time around - I didn't save it back to CTA. Then, more curiosity, I tried Harvey. CTA crashed. I then tried Little Mates Police and CTA crashed again. I'm using Affinity Photo, not Photoshop, but that shouldn't make any difference. This problem seems to be occurring within CTA. After the first crash, I went over to Affinity Photo and quit the app. When I made my subsequent crashes in CTA, Affinity Photo wasn't launched, implying that CTA was still preparing the assets for export and was not yet ready to pass the workflow over to the external editor. One other test I've just done… I wondered if it might be some sort of subtle permissions issue. I use the parallel Custom folder structure for my third-partty content. I copied another Little Mates character into the same standard folder as the Elastic Folks, but it crashed again. So it's not that. Gary

GarySame here...CTA3 crashing. Possible cause Grarry used all PNG and they are not being converted to PSD correctly.

Hi all. I have heard of this issue and I know that one of the Reallusion guys is currently looking in to it. I dont have an answer as yet, but like yourselves, I'm hoping to get one. I will be in touch. I will post info on my CTA Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/garrypyeanimations/?ref=bookmarks as I receive it. Sorry to anyone who is having problems.

Also, I assure you it is nothing that I have put in place to prevent anyone from being able to do this. in fact, it's quite the opposite. I encourage people to edit the characters for their own use. Just thought I'd mention that before someone comes on here with a conspiracy theory.

I'm confused about just one thing. You said the vector will be converted to image. You can't send a vector image to photoshop. Am I misunderstanding something?

Hi guys and thanks for your patience with this issue. I have just had word back from Reallusion with a fix. , The issue is caused because I had renamed the original six eye sprites. Photoshop requires that the layer names match the original template. For now, you will need to change them manually back to the origianl sprite names, as shown in the attached graphic. However, Reallusion has said "we will fix this issue in the future patch.".
My apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.

Hi all. Reallusion has been good enough to get back to with an explanation as to why the Little Mates character crash when you try to put them in to Photoshop for editing. It appears that the characters have more layers (particularly because of their eyes) than Photoshop can handle. I have an email from Reallusion with a temporary fix that might help until they are able to create a fix for any future update. If you would like a copy, please email me at garrypye@bigpond.net.au and I will pass it on to you. My apologies for the hassles. But at least it is not a problem with my content or CTA3 itself.

Garry, does this have to do with one's particular computer and memory set up? I ask because I've never had a problem with how many layers I've had up in a document in photoshop, and I've had upwards of 500 at times.

CTA 3.2 export Garry Pye's Little Mates to PSD edtitor PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS
Due to Little Mates have a lot of facial sprites that make it vivid and expressive, and the launch to PSD editor function of CTA3.2 has a limitation of 1024 layers. This will cause memory shortage problem or even computer crash.
We will fix this issue in the future patch. But right now, Reallusion suggest that users remove one of the eyes and modify naming while launching Little Mates or characters with more than 1024 sprites to the external PSD editor. Then duplicate the remaining eye in PSD editor to make up the deleted one. That will make the character work smoothly. Delete one eye to minimize the sprites amount. Then duplicate the remaining eye in PSD editor to create 2 eyes. Also, the naming of eyes should follow this rule.Photoshop requires that the layer names match the original template. For now, you will need to change them manually back to the origianl sprite names, as shown in the attached graphic.
