New to all this - have 6.53 if it helps. In CC it is easy to add dirt to clothes and shoes etc but I can't find a simple way of doing this to skin. If your clothes are dirty the why not your skin? How do you do iClone Mud Wrestling? :-) . I have seen early tutorials that do this by simply adding mud to a squashed out 'bearskin rug' image in Photoshop, but where is this simple trick now? If that system is still used there must be an image somewhere of Mason's skin? Thanks in advance!

To dirty the skin I like to use the blend slot. There are some pretty good blend maps that make great dirt, although you will need to play with opacity and strength settings (as well as U and V coordinates and scaling) to get the exact look you want.

Here's a real down and dirty quick thing I did in about five seconds in character creator with blend on the face and body, and using one of the provided blend maps without altering any other settings:

Thanks! Impressive and will do for what I need! I take it then you don't have to mess with anything except sliders? Will check it out tomorrow - late in this part of the world -but expect a cry for help at some point!

It's easy and fun. I almost always use blend maps on my stuff nowadays as it looks so much more realistic to be a bit dirty.

Kelleytoons (6/12/2017) Here's a real down and dirty quick thing Indeed... But, I agree with the use of Blend maps. A very versatile and easy way to do something about a look that's too clean.

Easy and fun for you maybe but as a newbie I am a bit lost. I take it that I need to go to 'appearance' and then 'body skin' but after that what? Skin base offers a lot of question-marked logos that I know can be changed - I put a logo on a T-shirt. Underneath are the sliders - none say 'blend' so I presume this is a general term! Moving them is global and not patchy as in your example. So, I am sorry, but you may have to go into a bit more detail! For me this is frustrating as I know my way around the far more complex After Effects and Trapcode and also a bit annoying - Listen up Reallusion! Clothes have a dedicated dirt option so logically should skin!

The dirty of Kelly is applied on the body in the texture window but not in the Apparence Editor. So there is no slider and it's not dynamic. You can only tile or shift.

Wow - thanks for your time on doing the extra with the graphic - but still not doing it for me! I get image maps (?) Diffuse. Opacity, Bump and Specular but all the others, including the all important blend, are the question-marked logo. Am I supposed to create it in Photoshop?

The question mark means that there is no map yet. The iClone installation comes with some Blend maps here: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Reallusion\Template\iClone 6 Template\iClone Template\Texture\Blends I'm giving the default path to the Reallusion folder, which is probably what you used during installation. But you can make the maps in any graphics editor, To load, double click icon for the Blend channel (the question mark). This will open a dialog where you can select and load a file. EDIT: Fixed typo...
