The job: We are seeking a 2D character artist to help us design and paint the characters for our game. There are a total of 13 characters, but we will do one first to make sure this relationship will work out. The right person needs to be able to prep each character for animation by giving us separate body parts and facings.

Deadlines will be one completed character every 6 weeks.  Faster would be better. That includes a concept/line art approval stage, then the full painting and animation in CrazyTalk Animator.

The Style: We are looking for a painted style, modern Horror, and somewhat realistic. We’re more interested in realism around the face than in the body, and it’s okay if they look painted. Just nothing too cartoony. We will provide concept art for the characters, samples, and a description of each.

To Apply: Please submit a link to your portfolio and call out any of your work that you feel represents that you can do the job. You can email your application to gamesomniverse@gmail.com. Please indicate your skill level with CT Animator.

Payment: For the first doll, we will pay you US$300 if we decide not to use it. If we decide to use it and continue our relationship, then we will pay US$500 upon completion of each doll. If we use it, we will give you credit in the game credits, and you will be allowed to use the characters in your portfolio.

Contract: Our characters are very important to us, and so we will expect you to commit to the schedule and to completing all 13 characters. We will ask you to sign a contract to that effect once we approve the first character. If all works out, this could become an even longer gig and you could do future characters and costume changes for us as well.

Greetings Games Omniverse,

While you have a nice detail of the type of work you are looking for, it soundslike some key information is still missing.
You have not mentioned if the characters are supposed to be G1, G2 or G3.

G1 and G3 Characters are single angle characters, and G2 are10 angle characters.  Keep in mind thatG1 and G2 characters are typically vector base, and are imported into theapplication from vector base application such as adobe animate.  Having a lot of line work (detail) and shading can cause importing issues andperformance issues if not done correctly.  G3 Characters are more idealfor Raster based images however, currently there is no way to import the entireraster character at once.  The capability is supposed to be releasedsometime in March, until then, the person will need to import each body partinto the application individually.

It's my understanding you want detail facial features, however, you should listout in more detail how many facial features are necessary for animation. By default the application supports a lot of different expressions.  For example each angle supports by default 30mouth expressions, 13 eye expressions, 18 eyebrow expressions and 11 handexpression.  You can import more, butthey will need to be done manually one by one.

I think having the additional information listed above willhelp people understand the magnitude of your request.

Janell

Thanks, Janell, for all that input! You're right, and it's helpful. For the record, we are looking to make G2 characters.

We have found an artist we want to work with, so this position is no longer available.

Best regards,
Angel...
