Hi. I am new to this forum. I have been experimenting with iClone 6 lately. I tried the facial animation and it's pretty impressive. I got crazy talk 8 pipeline as part of the recent offer by Reallusion. Can anyone tell me if crazy talk pipeline is better for 3D facial animation than iClone 6? Are there more precise facial muscle controls? Thanks.Others may have a different experience, but I found no advantage in using CrazyTalk. It's kind of a round-about way to do the facial animation in one application and then send it to iClone to check the results and then go back again to for any tweaking. It's also not universal in that you cannot import a head of character created in Character Creator into CrazyTalk, although CrazyTalk scripts would work for any G6 iClone character.
Another thing I found cumbersome is that the viseme symbols are too tiny and hard to see in CrazyTalk. They are already to small in iClone (I can just see them), but I found it impossible in CrazyTalk.
Now if it were a pipeline with real-time updates (a change in CT is communicated immediately to iClone) then there might be an advantage. Facial control is somewhat more versatile in CT, but I'm not sure if everything completely transfers. Hopefully you get some more insights from other users.
