For example if you create your Actor and you want to add say a lizard skin texture to your character  from a phote ,how can you do that? I can get a copy of UV ref into  Photo shop to add my pattern fill to the Skin map. How can I get that back into  I clone to change the skin texture of my actor. Any pointers would be gratefully received. I have a created head in Crazy talk pro 7. It would be great if  I could use that head on my CC Actor.. Is this all possible or will I have to purchase further add ons.

In iClone, double-clicking on any of the texture channels lets you import an image for that texture. So, edit your new skin texture in Photoshop (or whatever) and import to the "diffuse" texture channel in iClone. Note that the head and body are separate UV's.

If your just doing a pattern fill with a repeating tile, load that tile into the diffuse channel and set its tiling accordingly. No Photoshop needed. Wink

If you have the "Essentials" pack for Character Creator, you can load your new skin there if you'd rather. It's slightly more complicated, but gives you the options of the texture Substance that CC uses. Things like decals, body hair, etc.

After getting essentials I was thrilled by the substance options, you can randomly tile 3 textures as decals on top of the fabric layers on clothes so varying scales using images with alpha is quite doable, I ceated all sorts of new frabrics, it bakes them as a map.

Thanks for all your suggestions I really appreciate it. I have now been able to create the look I was looking for. I do now have an issue with the  project crashing . I have created my actor and have saved as a custom actor, I have used this Actor 3 times,Is this a known issue. I am using  Win 10 IClone 6 pro. Is there some way I can find a log of what is causing the crash. Message just says Windows is looking for solution and will advise if they find one. So frustrating with no error log or code

You should send this to support, they did put out a temp patch update to try.  It's specifically for the 6.4 crash issues.
