I saw that about the renderer in iC7 too. I'm hoping for radiosity, with all the voxel cone/path tracing stuff that's been a big deal lately. Think stained glass windows. Or reflective, white space suits. Wink

I hope we get a teaser like this once a month now. It's really neat to see future ideas that are being worked on, even if they're just ideas.

Since you speculated first... I'm imagining things like improved fog, volumetric lighting, and dare I say it... a mirror???

But first things first.  I haven't even installed yesterday's updates yet.  Tongue

Regarding this video , it's clear that PBR render is ready , the interface is implemented....

And it's funny that 3 weeks ago I was talking about that pop video converter have to be HD and reallusion target 4K!!!!

I was wondering about that as well and ended-up thinking that maybe they plan to implement PBR materials for 6.5, but those PBR materials will remain inside the current iClone render environment.
Then, in iClone7, they intend to replace the environment so that it does volumetrics, nicer DOF, motion blur, CA, screen effects, and all that fancy stuff Rampa mentioned.

Just guessing though, obviously, and even if that's the case then we would have reflections in 6.5 cause that is part of the PBR surface shader.
A reflective surface wouldn't be physically based if it failed to reflect it's surroundings, so, that means glass and mirrors etc should work w00t

There is some seriously capable and addictive iCloning on the horizon, make no mistake!  Only problem is I started biting my fingernails in anticipation and already I'm down to my knuckles cause I'm seriously concerned what the required OS will be for iClone7.  If it doesn't work on Windows7, I'm screwed, cause like millions of us, I won't install Windows 8 or 10 under any circumstances.  Windows7 is DX11 and 64-Bit so I don't suppose there's any reason for it not to work, but all the same, I'd really appreciate it if they could tell us whether iClone7 will be fully Windows7 compatible.

The suspense is killing me.

Before we get too excited...

a) The announcement said "2016."  Necessarily 6.5.  It might be 6.7 or 6.8, and not released until late December.  That's okay for now.  I'm still happy to know that we can reasonably "expect" it in 2016.

b) The announcement only showed one prop reflecting the "environment" (sky dome, or similar).  Keep in mind iClone already does that.  Sure, the reflections are all messed up (most obviously on flat surfaces), but reflective surfaces in iClone show the "sky" reasonably well.  We don't know how much we can extrapolate "PBR" to "Mirrors" yet.

Strange, my plants are "vampire plants."  You can see the other props being reflected, but the plants do not appear in the mirrored surfaces.  Must be a "Dracula cactus."

No worries Dennis, I'm excited about what's to come (very excited), but I'm not assuming anything (Iearnt that the hard way) BigGrin
I only said 6.5 cause I thought that was the break-off point for Reallusion before they start work on the next version, for example iClone5 reached version 5.51 and I think the 1 is just bug-fixes.

Regards your Cactus or 'Cacti' being vampires, nothing unusual there mate, that's perfectly normal cause those things are technically "water-vampires" w00t
Sorry Dennis, you'll have to excuse the bad jokes, I don't know what's come over me since yesterday!

Great news all round. I've not clicked on the CTA2 icon since I installed it and I'll more than likely buy CTA3 and hopefully I'll get the time to use it. There has certainly been a lot of excitement over the last week what with CC1.4 and Tokomotions excellant work. I'm so looking forward to finding some playtime to produce some characters that will wow and captivate audiences,

Anticipation is a bitch that we all love.

I'm very excited about the PBR Rendering Capabilities! But I wonder how much We're going to be getting when it comes to other things in the Render engine. I'm looking at this one point with cautious optimism. It would be nice to see the PBR render handle a human character --I am curious to see what that would look like on Mason and Heidi. Are we going to get Subsurface Scattering with it? These are just questions that come to mind as I look at this. I have more than enough to keep me busy while we wait for this to come out. It would be nice to know if this is going to be an all over improvement to the real time render engine. Bravo, Reallusion!
