Can't seem to be able to mirror a prop in iClone nor in 3DX.
The usual way is to negative scale a value from eihter x y or z but that can't be done.
Is there a mirror or flip function I didn't find?

What are you trying to "FLIP"?
Generally, no there is no Mirror Feature to reverse the look or orientation.

It does depend on what it is. Some items can be rotated for a mirror option, but things like Hands would require an external process to iClone or 3dXchange. There was a feature in a Free Editor I used sometime back that allowed this, to Flip hair. I can't recall the program, but a search for Heidi or Hair should bring it back up.

Found it:  https://forum.reallusion.com/FindPost227037.aspx    Program Used FormZ

Yeah, iClone ain't no modeling program.

It always helps to think of it as a place to manipulate the things you bring in from actual 3D programs.  If you need a prop mirrored then use XChange.

Yea, this would be a VERY useful function in iClone, for trees and plants, too.

Gladly, now how do I do that in 3DX?

The wipers on my plane, similar to this, I just wanted to make an easy copy. Emphasis on quick & convenient.

I didn't say you DO it in 3DX, I said you USE 3DX.  You need to export the prop, and then use whatever modeling program you are comfortable with to reverse it (for me I'd use Max, but I understand Blender is free and easy to use -- to each his own).  Then import (again, using 3DX) and you're good to go.

If you want to send it to me I'll do it for you (mike at kelleytown dot com).

The wipers would have to be sub-props of the plane, then you could easily separate them and move the one on the left to the right, and vice-versa.  Then they are reversed/flipped. You can do this in iClone or 3dXchange as long as they are separate components.

iClone or 3DX cannot flip an asymmetrical prop and thus I have to build it using a separate program in order to accomplish this.
If that is so then the convenience is NOT there, thus it becomes an inconvenience.
If there was a button that said flip it would take 1 second, done.
Instead I have to export the prop from iClone into 3DX then export it into a 3D editor scale to -1 export it back to 3DX then export it back to iClone.

.. and as stated earlier, if they are sub-props, then it can be done in 3dXchange or iClone.  You obviously (or not)  want to flip the entire object, and not just the wipers.

Convenience is a store where you pay too much for something that is next door.  This one is costing you time. Try using the software you were given the link to above.  It works pretty well, if you go the extra distance to visit the less costly convenience of trying it and finding that much out..  No software does everything. It's all about the mindset.
