"Where's the beef?" Where is it? There is an iClone 4 and iClone 5 forum but not an iClone 6 (befuddled). iClone 6 is a totally different paradigm from 4 & 5 so why wouldn't there be a forum just for iClone 6? Is iClone 6 a red headed step child? There is a plethora of differences from iClone 4 & 5. Hey Sysop/Admin/Developer/Tutor/Guru! Wake up and get with the program!

The default "iClone" forum https://forum.reallusion.com/iClone is the iClone6 forum. The older versions of the software are in child forums of it.

The main product forums are always for the latest versions. So as mentioned previously, the iClone 6 forums, General, Technical and so on can be found by clicking the link below.

Haha, I asked that same question when I first joined... because to newbies coming it, it doesn't *look* like there's an iC6 forum... and I still have trouble finding where to post each time I log in... so I don't suppose it's possible to change the name of the post...?

btw, now that email notifications are "fixed" for the forums and for members we are subscribed to, my inbox is being bombarded by emails - often up to 3 times for the same message... so is there any way we can have an option for daily or weekly updates, so we only get one email per day or per forum?

Or maybe there is already, and I can't find it..?

Since the "General" form gets renamed with a number later, why not just call it "iClone 6 Forum" from the very start?  It's going to end up being called that eventually anyway.  It would avoid this sort of confusion.

Then would free up the"General" section for things that are iClone-related, but not very version-specific, such as lighting styles and camera angles, etc.

Lastly, as long as we're at it, why isn't "Technical Issues" under a version-specific section?  iC4 and iC6 technical issues are likely to be substantially different.  If someone reports an iC5 bug, should they do it in the "iClone 5 Forum" or in the "Technical" forum?

1) New Forum worse than last. Like iC6 is worse than iC5. Black Skin - Ugh!
2) Topic Headings with Post/Posters details etc  available, but with  Black Skin Post/ Reply/ Edit Panel, with IE10
3)  White Panels with IE Compatibility Mode, but no Post/Posters details etc. Only Topic Headings
What gives?
Takes 10 times longer to do anything in iC6 than iC5. Didn't go beyond Trial Version.
Same with new Forum. Wonder how many Users can't be bothered to Post in Forum or use iC6.
Both a complete disaster, IMO & a terrible mistake. Reallusion should listen to it's established User Base. Many of whom appear to have left the Forum. Simple is best. Would have included a Wink Smiley - Where is it?

Hi Colour,

You should have Compatibility mode OFF for the forum and website. These have been updated to be fully functional in the latest browsers (IE11).

Takes 10 times longer to do anything in iC6 than iC5. Didn't go beyond Trial Version.

Don't you think this was probably because you were using a completely new UI so obviously it would take longer until you got used to it. This applies to everyone and all software.

Both a complete disaster, IMO & a terrible mistake. Reallusion should listen to it's established User Base. Many of whom appear to have left the Forum.

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you do tend to write as though you are speaking for all iClone users. We certainly do listen to our User Base and the reaction to iClone 6 has been overall far more positive than negative (once we got past the teething problems and high demands required by iClone 6 initially). I do get the impression that you are someone who does not like change and do recall you saying the same thing when iClone 5 was released. I do hope one day you will give iClone 6 another chance, perhaps giving it a little more time to get used to the new UI.

Simple is best. Would have included a Wink Smiley - Where is it?

Just press "+ Insert" under the message box when typing a post and select the emoticon from there. Wink

Or, as I discovered this morning, type it the old-fashioned way "colon + close-parentheses" and the smiley magically appears.
I have partial forum functionality at work (cannot do any "Format" or "Insert" things, and cannot paste into the typing area) because they cripple us in so many ways.  But it all works fine at home.  Smile

the one thing that is throwing me off a little ...at least my user support side of posting ,  is not knowing what forums the posts belonged to,   it's kind of embarrassing when you post Iclone advice on a cta thread ....so that's an issue for me...

the wide forum feels different,  but it really doesn't bug me -  it feels neater imo,  but I can appreciate how not everyone has my monitor - which is a tv and it may become a pain in the kitten for someone with a 90 inch monitor - that could give you whiplash reading a post about proper uv'ng ^.^ .  -  the colors don't bug me,  but I can also appreciate why others might not like it ......white /bright colors bother me more,  they strain my exhausted eyes tbh,  - having a dark forum,  is easy on the eyes for me,  so it works for me and I'm guessing whomever chose the color feels the same.
Bright colors are good for learning -  but darker colors are better for discussing and presenting media.

I am enjoying the fixed sizes of posted images -  i think that was great.  no more messed up threads,  yay!
The star ratings bugs the kittens out of me,  because more often than not,  one angry user can make it appear like the whole forum hates a thread, and it's simply a skewed and misleading rating,  even in the shops. A bad shopper blames you for them not reading what version of iclone this is compatible with and they have gas... the inverse is just as bad also,  when 1 person makes something look famous from 1 like lol..  I prefer the thumbs up like button approach better because it focuses on how many people support something ...as opposed to highlighting 1 angry user. -  it will naturally be more accurate ....if you see 2 people like one thing,  but 400 likes on something else ...that's  more accurate than 1 bad rating.

I'm loving the cleaner new format in this forum...

There's only 2 options/functions that I wish it had (or if it does, I still need to find):

*An option to choose how often to get emails from each thread, because I'd prefer daily for some and weekly for others, but at the moment, I get emails from each person whenever they post, as well as duplicate emails if that person also happens to be someone I'm following, so they're all flooding and drowning my inbox unnecessarily...

* And an option to turn off the pop-up window that we get after liking somebody's post... because the like button is supposed to speed the process of chiming in with support for an idea, but the pop-up window slows it down instead.

Great work tho gang!.. onwards and upwards... even if we do happen to slide back a step now and then, (as I recently have thanks to my antivirus software blocking interaction between iC6 and Indigo)... but it's all part of the journey, and how fun and wonderful that we get to play like this all day and call it work.

what a great decade this is for creative artists!

Smile
