hi

hoping someone might be able to help me out here. I haven't dabbled in flex cloths or physics before. Thought I'd start learning as I have a scene that would benefit from it.

I want to drape a blanket/sheet over an avatar body laying on the ground.
So what method would be best to use for this purpose ? Flex cloth or physics ? I've looked at the tutorials, but most seem to relate to soft cloths blowing in the wind or falling onto an object. I just want it to sit on the body but sit realistically ie follow the shape.

And how do I achieve it through soft cloth/physics or flexcloth ?

many thanks

Darren

I've continued troweling the net for answers

I think I may have found a lead...
One of Warlord's old tutorials on Soft Cloth. It's a tutorial on making a 'soft cloth' hood for a character. But similar principals apply to what I want I think. From what I gather, you still can't apply physics to an avatar in iC5, so I was thinking that I could use a few dummy physics objects under the soft cloth to roughly simulate the body shape

Here's Warlord's tutorial for anyone who is interested

Yeah, Physics Soft-Cloth should be the best way to go... with some Kinematic shapes attached to the avatar so the cloth can react. Be sure to run the simulation in "By-Frame" mode. That usually will give the best results.Wink
