Suddenly, and from out of nowhere I got this error screen when I tried to export.

Anyone know if I can fix this short of a re-install? I'll go there if need be but I'm not looking forward to it. Doze

Cool pete

Did you try a reboot?

Doesn't it happen with all video formats or with image sequences as well?

Are you using 32-bit or 64-bit?

The only time I had crashes like that was when there was something wrong with a codec.

Yup tried a reboot. Also brought up from a cold start but no luck. I'm using 32 bit but it all worked fine up until today. I'm beginning to give the fish eye to the hard-drive. It's been a bit noisy and I've had them corrupt random files on their way out before. Hmmmm....

The ntdll.dll file maybe??

Pete,

Here are results from an ntdll.dll search. Doesn't really look like a pure iClone problem.

Just some random thoughts:

Your hard-drive problems could be the cause. What I'm thinking is that during rendering iClone most likely relies on temp space.

By default the iClone temp directory is on the system drive [C:]. If that is the situation in your case, you could consider moving the temp directory to another drive. That is, if you have another drive in your system. The temp directory can be set in the Preference settings.

I find this more likely then a corrupt DLL, because in that case other programs would suffer the same problem and iClone would probably not just crash while rendering.

Another thing to try is to do a system restore from before your problems started although that doesn't seem a likely solution to me.

Given the state of your hard drive, I would also recommend to do some disk diagnostics. Hard drive failures can be sudden and are not fun. If you have an external drive it would be good to make a backup or even better a disk image, which allows you to restore in case of a disaster (for example, http://www.disk-image.com/download.htm).

thanks guys, I'm checking into it a little bit more. I'll check out the temp folders first and then proceed on to the dll.

BTW I made the clip in 32 bit and that's where it fails. If I export in 64 Bit it will export okay but my trees go a bit crazy.

Appreciate your help. Wink
