Question. Is it possible to dissect an avatar in order to switch it's parts with another avatar?

what do we look like ...a blender ? lol Hi Violator, Welcome to the forum!! yeah, swapping body parts is actually one of the most fun things to do in iclone, you can even go further and modify body parts in 3rd party software and re-import it to make a custom library!! Cheers!

The iClone avatars are already modular. The parts are: upper, lower, hands, shoes (feet), and head. Any parts of same generation avatars can be mixed. All generation heads can be used with any generation avatar. So a G5 head will work fine on a G3 body.
For fancier combinations, like the coat (upper) of one avatar over the shirt (upper) of another, your best bet would be to either use two avatars carefully animated together or just assume the coat covers up the shirt. Because the clothing is part of the avatar, it is weighted to the avatars bones and is either difficult or impossible to weight to a different avatars bones without some serious re-rigging outside of iClone (like Blender).
There are maybe a couple avatars in the marketplace (apparitions?) that had a double body suit for duplicating upper parts as lower parts for additional clothing effects.
