This may be something for RL to contact Avast (www.avast.com) about:

As of today I have found my 32-bit iClone inoperable. Ofter some headaches (trying to reinstall, system restore, etc.) I found that the culprit was my Avast virus protection, which decided that ICTimelineU.dll  is infected. I know it isn't, because even after a full reinstall I got the same issue. The 64-bit version is fine.

As if an animator's life isn't hard enough...Angry

Anyway, I just wanted to report this in case somebody else encounters the same problem. I'll be on vacation (away from iClone), so I'm not immediately affected.

BTW, I think somebody at Avast hates 3D, because I had a similar problem with Mimic.dll (lipsynching in DAZ).

My problem is same with you .

Please give me tutorial how to do that .

After install 5.51 Patch , my iclone 5 can not open it .

The program can not find file ICTimelineU.dll

Maybe give me link download this file , by the way this file is reallusion program .

My OS windows 32 , XP Pack 3

Seemingly, it affects only the 32bit-Version, since another german member also told me, that his 64-bit version still works !? Ermm

OK, so this is indeed serious...

I did the following to correct this:

  1. Add the DLL to the Exclusions in Avast. This is a list that tells Avast to ignore certain items.
    • For 64-bit OS: C:\Program Files (x86)\Reallusion\iClone 5\Bin\ICTimelineU.dll
    • For 32-bit OS: C:\Program Files\Reallusion\iClone 5\Bin\ICTimelineU.dll
  2. In the Virus Chest find the ICTimeLineU.dll file. Right-click the file and select Restore.

That should fix it.

Note: If you have Avast 2014, then you can skip the first step and simply select Restore and add to exclusions.

Also in Avast 2014, you may have to add Virus Chest as an option to the user interface:

I hope everyone gets this resolved. As noted, 64-bit is OK.

Thanks for the notification and workaround Animagic.

On occasions anti-virus software will throw up false reports like this. We have had no reports of other software such as Norton, McAfee reporting this file as a problem so it seems an Avast issue.

However please do let us know if anyone else gets a virus report on this or any other file. Thanks.
