Help! Yes I'm new to this program (CTA) but have extensive knowledge in other animation and video editing software which is why this is utterly killing me that I can not find the answer.
See my attached image. Why does the center point stay static or become further and further away from my character as I move her? So, when I add a "pre-made" motion the character jumps to that point upon start of its animation.
Thanks

That is not the center point of your character but a position in the character pathing.
If you click on the Transform button and select Curve the green path line should reappear or move to a new frame on the timeline and reposition the character and then the green pathing line should reappear.
For some reason, when in linear mode, with only two positions (keys), the green pathing line disappears.

Jeff, Thank you.
I had a hard time piecing all that together.
For us newbies, its move the object to the desired locations within the transform layer as key frames and animate the action in between afterwards.
I'm digging now that I'm getting it!
Check my video out.

PS, I'd sure like to know how to embed a YouTube Video here.

To embed youtube video:
Click on the embed button under the video on youtube and copy/paste the code to your post.

Good start on the video.
The great thing about CTA is the tweening it does between positions.
