I'm a newbie. I created my first scene (living room) and want to have my character transition into the city/street scene. How do I you do this?

The typically method is to create two projects, export each one and then use a video editor to put them together with (or without) a transition effect.

Agree with above comment that two projects are typical.

You can however build up your exterior scenery first and then drop the house/structure into the space designated for it in the exterior so you can shoot the interior and then have the character walk out the door all in one project. It would be up to you how the cameras and transitions were applied, but it is easily possible with a little effort. Your interior could just be a room box (3D Space Prop) that you turn off when you are through with the interior. and it could be anywhere off to the side, where it isn't even seen by the cameras from the exterior shots. You are the director, after all.
