All of a sudden, iC3 has opened a completetly new dimension for that much-loved International character, Pinhead.

At the moment, he's on holiday in Egypt in his jeep & stuck in a sandstorm. Dilemma - How does he get-out of it? Drives up one side of a pyramid & down the other.

I can see that with iC3, you're only limited by your imagination as to what you can achieve to tell a darned-good story. Can't wait to see what Alley does with Pinhead, in iC3

To the OP: It would be impossible to develop a "One Suit Fits All", Consumer 3D Editing Prog at the outset & at the price, since there are far too many variables Re: eg; Hardware, individual's use of that & their workflows. These can only be minimized by the introduction of Patches, based on Users feedback. So far, iClone have responded to that in a more timely manner than most of the Consumer Editing Prog Developers. If you want a Prog that's going to work "Out-of the box", you would need to spend several hundred dollars & have a PC that's dedicated solely for Editing. Otherwise you need to work within the Prog's limitations & use workarounds, like the rest of us

If I may...
I have been using iClone since April of last year. I have never had a single issue with customer support, Peter, or Visconti. Rather, it's been far and above most support. It clearly says 24-48 hours WORKING days for a response.

SPINELESS is posting a rant safely from home and not face to face. There is nothing spineless about Reallusion.

SOFTWARE ISSUES- None are perfect when they are first released. Vista anyone? Yet a billion dollar company. Hardly anything worked with Vista for the longest time, and some things still don't.

INTERNET CONNECTION NEEDED?- there is a boxed version, if you can actually read.

REGISTERING- Not that is a diamond ring, no. But if you are like me, and your computer crashes, you can re-download even if you lost the links, it's on file. THANK YOU REALLUSION.

That is all. Thank you Reallusion, Peter, Visconti, and team. Stay the course!

I think this reaction is rather extreme for someone who hasn't even bought the product...

I've been very fortunate in that my system seems to have been very compatible with iClone3. I really only had the one major issue when I first installed it, and then it was simply a matter of updating my graphics card driver, which is a given for even a lot of new games.

Obviously there has been several compatibility issues with iC3 on various different machines. Yes in hindsight RL could have done their testing a lot better in that regard, but I look at it this way. iClone is a VERY cheap 3D animation program. If RL had spent the same sort of time and money the big software companies do testing their products, then
a) we wouldn't have even seen iC3 for another year or more
b) it would cost more like $1000 (or more) rather than $300

I can totally understand people's frustration for those who can't even get the program running properly at all (I would be getting very frustrated by now too) But from what I have observed, Peter Edwards had taken on board all the criticism, and done everything within his control to try to arrive at solutions for the several challenges being thrown at him. I actually commend the manner in which he has handled things. Obviously the solution isn't always something that he is able to offer, in which case he has suggested the user contact support. I haven't dealt with RL support, so I don't know how good or bad they are. But IMO Peter Edwards has been very helpful and polite under the circumstances. There is a thread that is open to report problems/bugs. And RL is obviously listening, making an effort because several of these issues have been resolved with the patches.

I can't afford 3D animation software that costs thousands of dollars (and iC3 does virtually everything I ever dreamed of!) so I'm willing to deal with a few software bugs whilst I'm paying a bargain price, providing the company listens and attempts to resolve the problems, which I see happening.

Having purchased and used v1.5 and v2 I have to say that I had results within a couple of weeks that would have taken me months with other software. As for v3, I have upgraded my computer for v3 but I have held off buying. I have no doubt Reallusion will iron out the problems very shortly and that will be when I upgrade to v3.

I can understand the frustration of someone who bought v3 within a day of it's release but frustration and anger from someone who hasn't bought it?

I know I am just a couple of weeks from upgrading and I also know if there are a couple of issues remaining when the latest patch promised by Peter is released that that will be fixed also. At that point any issue will be minor and probably only seen by those who dig deep into the program.

I am quite satisfied with the product and support. Personally I think it is not appropriate to post those ugly opinions. The vast majority of software users that post like that are the ones that do not take the time to read and hence do not get some literacy on the particular product. Every tool needs some sort of training just like every automobile has its particularities.
No software is perfect, and most of it needs some sort of fix from time to time, even in the toughtest test conditions.
iClone has proven for me that its is effective, not perfect, but still great!

May the 3D force be with you!

I can't speak for IClone, but I have tried several "speaking head" avatar builders. CrazyTalk5 is way ahead of the crowd... If only I can figure out how to run a batch lip-synching process!

The licensing method is fairly clunky, but this is a young, sharp company. This crew will figure it out.

Hey I don't blame this guy. He has a right to be mad. Think about it. He goes over to ********* and  puts in all that time and effort to download  a cracked version of Iclone. Then, imagine his frustration when he has problems running it on his e-machine he bought at Walmart 5 years ago. The sales associate said the integrated graphics card was state of the art for gaming! So, he thinks - I'll try and get those patches on the reallsion website (that might fix things) - however he can't find them - the stupid site requires that pesky registration stuff...and the Damn - that internet based DRM server creates so many problems Ahhhhh!!! He wonders how come there isn't a bunch of free ripped off content on ******** like there is for Poser!!! Screw Reallusion! They NEVER answer any of his support questions about his stolen hacked software...especially since he joined the forum almost a year ago - has only been here twice and only posted once.

Plus he really has a point about Peter.....

Hi JP ... I've removed the sites you mentioned in your post above. Please don't post sites where illegal software can be downloaded. Thanks.

Sorry, I forgot we are all supposed to pretend to live under a rock.

Just for the record though - the "Name" of the sites (not even full names or urls) I mentioned are very well know PTP file sharing sites that may have links to BOTH legal and illegal file downloads. I did NOT post an actual link to any site  NOR did I post any actual links to files, torrents, or any such material. That would be clearly a bad thing to do. The names mentioned have appeared in newspaper print and other media many times in the past. I also don't think my post promotes such activity.

Anyway, by deleting what I wrote - you could give the impression that I wrote something worse than I did - which could give my fellow forum members the wrong impression of me. I might be a bit quick to the trigger - but I am not a thief. This is important because some members here have trusted me with certain (content) things that - if I were actually promoting such activity - might place such trust in question.

Anyway, I was attempting to be supportive in my own way - so I will excuse the heavy handedness - this time.

I have just been able to get back to the forum and read these messages. Since the issue of internet connection was brought up I have a question. I don't mind connecting to the internet software and add ons. I have a separate graphics PC that has a dial up connection strictly for this purpose. That way I don't have to worry about idiots who like to hack PCs. My problem is that everytime I start iClone it connects me to the internet. This is annoying. After I am into the software I can disconnect and everything works fine. Did I miss something or does everyone have to do this. The other problem I ran into with the Occupational pack was that I had to stay connect and load each item the first time before the "new" symbol disappeared. I had everything registered but why do I have to go thru this procedure?

By the way the product is great just a little annoying to get into.
