| Hello All,
I noticed on the website that Crazytalk 5 was previewed at Siggraph 2007. Is it possible to give at least a written preview of what new features might be available? Moreover, what are the options towards beta work?
I just purchased Crazytalk last week and can tell you it is truly amazing. Suddenly lipsyncing for my film isn't a mind crushing thought. I am producing an animated feature film for mature audiences. This means that there is a lot of exposition; which by nature comes with tons of dialogue. Crazy talk makes that workable. I'm looking forward to CT5 and hope that it addresses a lot of things to make it useable for film feature work.
Regards
ps. sure would be nice to have Crazytalk output to quicktime and photoshop extended |

| Thanks for the link. I'm seriously looking forward to January of 2008. The 3d profile and face fitting sounds fantastic. Just in case they haven't thought of it I figure now would be just as good a time as any to come up with some more ideas for wishlist items.
Profile-frontal animation for 2d: Imagine drawing 2d images or taking photos of a head turn. Simply load the three images(front, 3/4, side profile) into Crazytalk. Have three different auto head types (the aforementioned front, 3/4, side profile)for each corresponding image. When the lipsyncing is generated and the user specifies when a head turn takes place (make it like one of the emotional states in the palette) Crazytalk will morph through the drawings.
2.5d heads: Allow multiple drawings/images to generate a 3d object.
Quicktime: Output to resolution independent quicktime (With Alpha channels)
Alpha rendering: Output the renderfile only of the Alpha Channel.
Photoshop Extended: Allow for output to video layers in Photoshop Extended.
Larger Aspect Ratio: Output to any aspect ratio specified (Resolution Independent). Have standard presets: HD/NTSC/PAL/Film.
That's all I can come up with for now. When I come up with more ideas I'll post them. Unless of course I'm told to stop. Finally, I'll try again, what is the proceedure to become a beta tester?

| Making the faces MORE expressive and allowing for subtle changes is very appealing to me - but, I suppose, we will have to wait and see how well the CTS data carries over to full figures in iClone 3 and if, by then, characters can fully maintain BOTH facial AND body animation simultaneously.
I Beta Tested the last Crazy Talk - which WAS definitely a revolutionary step forward from the crude toothless, slit mouths and flat depictions of earlier versions and old concerns about deliberately generating tiny file sizes.
I don't remember how the opportunity was advertised but, apparently priorty was given to people who could show examples of material they had already produced with the program.
It would be great to learn/see more details of CT5 - especially as footage from iClone 3 has been online at YouTube for a while now and yet THAT product has a later release date.
Just some screenshots would be hugely welcome - especially of new facial edit points, non-human meshes and a revised, more functional and robust timeline. |

| If anyone knows where I can send a sample of my work to sign up for the beta please let me know. Or if possible, I wonder if one can post work on the forum here. Perhaps a Work-in-progress or Show Your Work thread?
Feature requests,
Macintosh Version: My unit is a Macbook Pro. Thus far I have used Parallels Desktop to run Crazytalk/WinXP. A Universal Binary version for the Mac would be ideal.
Vector Input/Output: Allow manipulation of vector head drawings. |
