Hello RL,

are you planning on making an update for the plugin so that it works at least with maya 8?

also how about a plugin so that we can edit ICLONE characters with "Blender" , this is a great program and it is free.

Hello,

It's been a while since maya plug-in was released but we haven't got any tutorials or anything.

Are there plans to release some Maya based tutorials? Cause i'd realy don't want to learn 3ds just to make iClone models :/

Thx

I'm with you on this one, I dont want to learn a new 3d software nor spent another 3700 bucks
just to create content for Iclone. As far as the plugin is concern, it only works with maya 7, I have maya 6 unlimited and maya 8 complete and neither one works with the plugin. Also, even if it did work, I think the plugin was only good for creating props and live props but not characters with skeletons.

Hello reallusion,

are you guys making any attempt to update the maya plugin? If so what is your ETA? I'm just asking because I'm concidering buying 3d studio max (as much as I dislike that program). I just want to create new characters content, and while Iclone bones are useful for robots and the likes, a well clothed character will not work with it because you can see where the parts join in.

thanks for the info,

Stuckon3d

I'm interested in creating a plugin for both Maya 8.5 and up and Cinema 4d, if someone could steet me in the right direction for information on what Iclone wants as output it would be great.

Also although I just started using Houdini, I have to say they have a great deal. They sell a non watermarked full featured Houdini 10 for a little over $100. It's restricted to non commercial.

I would love to figure out how to do a plugin for Houdini but its probally well in the future as I am just learning. The benefit of Hodini for FX is just fantastic.

I am more a scientist engineer than a graphics artist. I have gotten involved in CG as a way to explain science to non specialists. Even scientists and engineers have trouble understanding new developments outside their domain. Showing data in four dimensions enables non specialists who may not be familiar with the math of the field to get an intuitive grasp of what is going on.

I am new to Iclone but was drawn to it to quickly develop my visual stories. I want to be explaining science and not have to spend 90% of my time developing the cg art.

I think that over time if I can develop assets for Iclone that centers around science and engineering textures and props, then Iclone becomes a great tool for explaining science by the people who are involved in developing science.

I want to thank all of you for the wonderful learning materials you have made available.
