I'm new to iClone, so please excuse my ignorance!

I'm trying to create a bedroom for a scene. I've downloaded a room from Google 3D (see pic below) and I want to add a floor board texture to the floor.

Could someone please advise me how I would go about doing this ? I've looked around at the settings and can't see an option to change the texture on an individual 'node' (I think it's called)

and second question is, what format does a texture have to be in ? Can it be jpg ?

thanks in advance for any assistance!

Darren

Hi Darren:

Maybe I am misunderstanding the question, but I would add a plane prop inside iclone (part of the standard content), position it on the floor and then I would apply a diffuse texture to the plane.  There are a number of textures that came with Iclone including wood type for floors.  They can be found in c:/Program Files/Reallusion/Iclone 2/Template/Iclone Template/Texture/Iclone Diffuse/03Wood.

Inside Iclone, it has to be jpg.  I don't know about doing it in 3dxchange.  Also, inside Iclone, there are the various settings that can be adjusted to make the texture look more realistic, depending on what it is being applied to.

thanks Alley, I think you might have answered my question.
essentially I'm just trying to put a wood floor in on the room in the picture. At the moment it looks like concrete!

I'll have a look for this 'plane prop' you refer to in iClone. I haven't come across it before - then again there's heaps of stuff I've yet to discover in the program

thanks for your help!
