I love the play to create mode, but have found it not very responsive.

For once, it takes a while to start (more than I like), and it takes a while to stop.
If I stop the characte by pressing the spacebar (pausing the recording), what I get is a few seconds of him walking in place, and then stopping abruptly.
When I edit the length of a walk cycle on the timeline, that cycle begins breaks.
The is no way to strafe (A, D keys in most games), so the character only walks straight forward. This makes it really difficult (and unrealistic) to navigate close cuarters.

Hope this helps.

I find it best to stop your actor first before pressing the spacebar. You can always wind back and begin recording again from the point where the character stopped.

Is there any type of inertia planned for the iClone camera?

Not heard of anything specifically but the development team are always working on great new features for iClone. I wouldn't be surprised to see this appear sometime in the future.

I have problems driving that jeep!

It takes forever to turn and it doesn't run smoothly like a real car.

I think the Director mode can be improved a lot!

Hi Techgal,
while the director mode is not at responsive as a video game, there are a few things you can do to help with the perfomance.

1) turn shadows off
2) use quick shader instead of pixel shader.
3) reduce the screen resolution or the viewport port size.
4) turn off all objects that do not interact with the iprop.

doing these 4 things will increase the responsiveness drastically.

Hope this helps,
your friendly icloneer,

And, is it possible to change the "keys" to control the jeep ?
Because for me, french user, it's not logical to use A,S,W, D.

I'm not in QWERTY but in AZERTY, so it's more easy to use Z, Q, S, D... but I'm not sure if it's possible or not.

Thanks

Just find a Keyboard mapper utility program!

There are many in Internet!   They will let you make any key into anything but you will have to revert it once used or you will get your letters totally scrambled!

Hi,

If you are comfortable editing .INI files in Notepad then you can make the required changes in the file called AMLHotKey.ini. You can normally find this in the location below.

c:\program files\reallusion\iclone 3\config

Edit this file with caution and make a backup of the original in case something goes wrong.
