| I don't believe this is so difficutl, so please can somebody explain where I am going wrong.
I have been using the edit key on animated camera to cut angles, but my current piece just needs a simple circle around the character from the back to show the face. How can it be done? I took three shots, the rear, the front and midway by aligning the camera to his side. Side to front works fine, but for some reason, back to side goes off and films a tree somewhere on the other side of the scene for a few shots and comes back. I tried to split this into further small steps, but the camera bobbles about as though two people are fighting with it, one of them trying to film the tree. I guess that is, in effect what is happening.
To see how it was done, I tried to look at the circle standard motion, but that overwrote the whole thing, but that's OK as I still had the saved backup. And then like a fool I saved the circle motion over the top of my backup. That's 2600 frames (and 2 days) of camera alignments I won't see again soon, so I am not at all happy with myself.
I know this isn't very clear, but can't think of a better way to describe it. I have also put this query on a couple of other forums, so sorry if you see it twice!
Any advice would be appreciated (and an Undo button - Is there one in Iclone 3?) Thanks
Richard. |

| Still haven't sussed this, but have been advised to get my head around it before I start using Multi-Cameras in I-Clone 3 (if I ever get it!).
Let me try to explain the problem a bit better:
I start with the camera pointing at the back of the head and would like it to move to the face, so on my timeline I have back at frame 1 and front at frame 100. I would liek the head to reamin fixed as the central point in the circle while the camare moves around the circumference, so the shot remains fixed on the head. What is happening is the camera is turning to face the direction it needs to when filming hte front of the head BEFORE starting to move around the circumferene, so rather than getting a central fixed point, I am filming the outside of the circle and swing the head back into frame towards the end of the arc.
Please cna you tell mne how to get around this. I have tried chunking the arc into small sections and setting the camera to point tat the character form different angles, but it is very difficult to mainatain smooth motion doing it that way. Plus the camera still spins wildly in between points on the time line.
Any advice please?

| | Hi Richard, If I understand you right then all you should need to do is follow the example images below. Swith to Scene - Camera - Modify. Select Animated Camera and Edit Key and then open the Timeline. From then on I positioned the camera using Roll X-Z as seen in the images below and added 5 keys with the 3rd key at frame 50 being half way round. Once done the camera does a nice circle round from back to front. Is this what you are trying to achieve?
