| I guess the obvious answer are the World Wilderness Scenes for sale by Reallusion. They are not really that expensive but there is a cost. Also, if you go through backdated Newsletters of Reallusion, they offered some free for download. Also, if you are a Cool Clones member, they would have some 3D scenes available for download.

Terrain generation software - free version - have not tried it - looks complex but useful. Collada Export.
Loads of 3D links here. Some Poser focus, but alot of free 3d objects and stuff - I think it is the biggest 3d link collection I've come across.

| @Alley: Thank you for your recommendation - I checked the Reallusíon scene packages but I am afraid there is nothing that solves my problem. I am looking for some basic landscapes like deserts etc.
@ipiazzo: I will check the download link you gave me. I tried a free version of "Bryce" today, which would work, but I can export only objects not the whole 3D-scene. |

| the Google Sketch up 3d Warehouse is a good one -
I have uploaded a fair few very accuarte and low poly weapons on there - but the textures are some time a bit off
