I just purchased Crazy Talk v4.6 after seeing it demonstrated at the SLCC 2007 convention this past weekend. I was able to get the trial running and then uninstalled it. I then purchased and installed the media studio and kept running into a problem after I enter my serial number. It hangs for about five minutes and then comes back with the following message:

Crazy Talk v4.6 Media Studio Setup
Setup unable to retrieve information from the internet to validate your serial number right now.
If you do have internet access, please try installation at a later time.

Setup will be terminated.

The Reallusion website is up and running. Does this happen often? How can I validate the software and start using it?

Hi,

It may be your Firewall settings are preventing the validation process from working. If you are able, you could try turning off the Firewall briefly while validating your serial then you can turn it straight back on.

Also are you also logged in as an Administrator as you may well have restricted access if not.

Have a look at this post that dealt with the same problem:

If you are still having problems try contacting support using the form provided.

Thanks. I realized now that I posted to the wrong forum for CrazyTalk, but your help still fixed my problem. Opening port 80 and 8080 on the firewall let me install the software.

Ive come across the same problem even after shutting dwn my firewall and activating all my svcs in Win XP.
I dont understand why we have to continually connect to the server to reinstall the sftware. If our internet provider is down or we decide to cancel our internet svc then we cant connect. I dont think its fair to pay for a product and have limited access to it.
