| HI alkl., I am trying to align two characters to hug, and it is blowing my mind! Is tehre any way to see two of the mannequins together in the motion editor, so I can see how the motions interact without having to go backwards and forwards exporting etc. I keep having arms passing through heads and all sorts!
Thanks. |

Thanks. In iClone 2.5 it is a matter of trial and error really but in iClone 3 this will be so much easier as all motion editing is done within iClone itself in the preview window. This way you will be able to position both characters at the same time and position arms directly without switching out to the Motion Editor.

| | the download looks good (although i can't seem to register at the coolclones site, it just hangs) and that would handle one very specific action, but i'm having the same problem in getting two characters to just generally interact in a realistic way as soon as they get in any kind of close proximity, unless you're very lucky their limbs will keep on intersecting so you have to continually fiddle about with the poses (usually ending up breaking them in the process) that's more or less acceptable in a computer game, but not so great in an animation

| | Hi, trial and error is right , it takes a lot of going back and forth, i think the key is to have one character motionless and the other move. I would recomend upgrading to Iclone 3, once you have got used to it, it is so much easier to tweek the motions and have them interact. I did the music video below in 2.5 and theres a hug at the begining, i remember because it took ages to make it look right! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=FgISLUUBTVk

| | hey man. cool looking video i've got 3, but i'm still learning how to use it (although i have done quite a lot of animation in the past). i'm mainly using preset motions at present, and doing some small tweaks to them, but i'm hoping to build up a library of my own eventually once i've built up more expertise i've set myself the goal of creating a small 15 minute or so movie, which i'll be publishing on my adult art site in installments - that should give me the incentive to learn some of the more complex features of the app. so far i'm very impressed with it, but am finding out the drawbacks to it too, and one of them is how difficult it is to get two characters to interact. i can imagine how much time must have gone into that single hug!
