Hi guys

I've just discovered Iclone, will make a post in the newbies section very shortly with a bit more info.

Anyway, the stage I'm at, is I have downloaded the Iclone demo and had a bit of a play with it. I haven't gone too far into yet, as I'm mainly interested in getting a bit of an overview on the main features before I decide to purchase the product. If I do I will be buying the Pro version.

It seems Iclone has the majority of great features to suit my requirements, however my only concern is the lack of body customisation for the models. I was hoping to able to adjust a few more parameters for individual body part proportions to closer resemble the real life people that that I'd like to include to the creations and to add a bit more variety to the cast, without the need to spend thousands of dollars on a copy of 3D Studio.

Whilst there are 9 G2 body types, only really the 2 (Jack & Jane ??) I've only really noticed skin/clonecloth packs to suit Jack & Jane ?? Is there any other resources to support the other body types ? Does Iclone 3 have anymore support for customisation of body meshes and/or is there plans for more theme packs to suit the other characters ? For example I need a petite female adult, and Sarah's body type seems best suited, however I can't seem to find any support for this body type in the clonecloth packs ?

I realise it's probably a bit late for adding to the wish list for features, but some sort of basic mesh editor would be great.

Ah one more thing that I wanted to clarify if I may. If I buy Iclone 2 now, do I get the upgrade to version 3 when it's release next month at no extra cost ?? Do I get the full version 3 download ?

cheers

Darren

Hi,

iClone 3 will have customizable bodies unlike iClone 2.5. You will be able to adjust individual body parts to create an endless variety of body shapes.

And if you purchase iClone 2.5 now you will get a free upgrade to iClone 3 (download version)when it is released on the 8th August.

I hope this answers your questions.

thanks mate, that does answer my questions, and sounds like v3 will have all the features on my wish list. Well I couldn't wait any longer and bought v2.5 (studio) yesterday. Just playing with it now, and amazed at all the features. Can't wait until v3 comes out

cheers

This makes me wonder.

Does the ability to customize (adjust) body parts to create different characters mean that we may need only say 2 base V3 characters to create the body represented in the 9 or so G2 body types?

And does that mean also only 2 base clone cloth variations.

Frankly I think characters, from now on, should be supplied as a package of 1 nude base, and cloth bases in the same package. I would be willing to give up supplied textures in this form.

It really depends on your requirements. While you can customize your own character any way you want by changing the values of each body part, it isn't possible to say just increase a bicep or give a more defined six pack with this system. You will be adjusting the lowertorso or upper arm as a whole. This to me still leaves a market for specially created detailed body shapes like the Xor character we have in the G2 series.
