Motion Editor needs several basic things...

1) At least 2 or three animation layers, so it would be possible to change a motion without interruption. For instance a walk motion could be modified as to make the character raise a hand while walking, by enabling a 2nd animation layer and orienting the arm properly. the arm would be animated separately in the layer track.

2) Now it is impossible to rotate the hip without rotating the whole character. Some Inverse kinematics to the hip would allow hip rotations without dragging the character into an unnatural position. Right now it is VERY difficult to do a "sexy" move...

3)A means to "plant" either foot to the ground (lock) is necessary to make a reasonable walk motion without using stock walks.

Hi,

There will be big changes to motion editing with the release of iClone 3. For one the Motion Editor will be gone and all editing will be done within iClone 3 itself. Motion layers, Inverse Kinematics, Forward Kinematics are all available in scene in IC3.

Keep an eye out for the special iClone 3 Preview section of the forum that will be opening soon.
