| I don't mind paying the $30 for the voice. But when they tell me that I can't use the voice in my animations and sell the videos on the internet or put them up on Youtube, that is a deal breaker. That restriction makes their product next to useless as far as I am concerned.
Right now I just have Mary, Mike, and Sam available for use with CrazyTalk. Is there any place that I can get more voices without the additional $100 per year per voice license fee. |

| Try out Screaming Bees MorphVox
With a Good Microphone and your own voice you can do almost any voice without further royalties being paid. You save the voices using your own description and reuse again for other things. The trial is generous on time to get you set up and comfortable with it's use..

| Yeah MorphVox is excellent, with tons of character voices already set up for you, and you can edit your own. Also there's loads of free FX sounds for download.

| OK, I tried Voice Changer from Audio4fun and I felt that it was somewhat less than satisfactory. I remember that their trial version was so crippled that I couldn't evaluate anything. But it looks like MorphVOX Pro will be better. Looks like I need to upgrade my mic also. Any particular one that you recommend?
Seems like voiceover has always been a problem for the small time video producer. I really appreciate this information. Thanks so much. |

| I have found some of the cheapest microphones out there will get you what you pay for and others that are priced the same which work better than the high priced versions. Altec is one that is inexpensive but also clear. Noise canceling is a plus to look for regardless of the ones you decide on. It depends on your sound board and what it will accept. Stereo is sometimes better, but Monaural will do, unless you sing Karaoke and then you may need to buy others around a set of earplugs.

| | Hi. While I'm now using professional software, I started out with an open source sound mixing suite called audacity (which you can get for free at sourceforge.net). It takes a little bit of time to understand it, as it is designed for recording and mixing all sounds, but the advantage is that you can also import music tracks as well as record your own voice and then morph all or any of it. When you get a sound you like, just save the settings as something recognisable like "me sounding like a young girl" or similar. Best of luck. |
