Hi,

i am using iClone 2.5 (Standard) with Vista (iclone patch is installed). I have the problem, that sometimes the emotives for Facial Animation don't work for some wave-files. Or just partly, so that right after the spoken words (no problems with mouth animation) the selected emotive suddenly kicks in.

Other files work just fine and have been recorded with the same tool (no23 recorder) and same settings.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi,

This isn't something I have encountered myself. The only time I have noticed a similar problem is when using a very short audio file. Does the problem apply to all emotives when applied after the import of the problematic WAV file?

I personally use Magix Cleanup Lab to edit WAV files. It would be interesting to hear if anyone else has the same problem.

I checked if perhaps the recording (of 5 words) is too short, so i added a few seconds of silence before and after, totaling in 18 seconds.

But again, while the mouth animation works without problems, every emotive i choose isn't applied. (It's just an uncompressed wave-file, using the "araw"-codec, if this helps.)

For best results a standard PCM audio codec is best. I always convert all WAV files straight to PCM and have not encountered any problems like you describe so far. You could try it and see if it makes a difference.
