Hey folks - first post here. Have been using Iclone for about a month now and have made several nice animations. Everything has worked well. But, all of a sudden, on this one 3 minute clip, I am getting a clicking sound during playback of the AVI, after rendering. The click is at the rate of about 4 per second. It is not in the playback through Iclone, only in the render. Have changed video compressions, have removed and replaced the vocal track, have taken the vocal track and quieted it down thinking that was it, no dice. Even rebooted thinking that there was some other residual program conflict -no dice. Have rendered about 8 times - all have the clicking.

As anyone else had this problem?

It is not hardware related because it has worked perfectly up to now.

Thanks,

Ken

Hi ksrisley.
I had this problem once. I'm afraid to say that the only way I resolved it was to re-record the sound as the the original sound appeared corrupted in some way from its source and had nothing to do with iClone's performance. Sometimes these things 'just happen'. This may or may not be your problem or may not be an option for you but its worth a try if re-recording is fairly easy.
Failing that - hang on, I'm sure others on this forum have had similar experiences and will make other suggestions shortly.

Thanks Gizmo.

Interestingly, I took all the sound out and then re-rendered. That little click, click, click, click sound (about 4 per second) remains. No audio. Somehow Iclone (or something related to it) is adding the clicks. I went back and took an older animation clip which rendered perfectly at the time (about a week ago) and now IT has the clicks. I've made no hardware changes or anything.

Would be good to know why.

But your idea of remixing is absolutely spot on. I'll just place the clip in my movie editor and ad the sound separately. The lip syncs will already be matched. Great thinking.

BUT - if anyone has any idea why iclone is deciding to play with my head, let me know.

Hi Ken. Me again. The only other thing I can come up with at this time is to turn your sound down when rendering and/or recording - if you are using a text to speech programme. Maybe iClone is picking up unwanted sound from your graphics card or your hard drive. ??? Hope you get it sorted. I know how frustrated these issues are.

Sorry - that should have been. 'when you are NOT using a text to speech programme'.
