I have just purchased CT5
It seems this programme is very limited, yet I can only upgrade to CT5pro if I have an older version of CT than 5, or pay a non discounted price.

Am I right in thinking the edit key button is not available on CT5, because I cant find it?
I can use emotives, but puppeterring makes no changes at all.

Voices are limited and robotic. Ive downloaded from my home page, but they too are not very pleasing on the ear. I did manage to download a couple of voices, but in the script the voices add in "please register this product" and I cant work out how to, or to purchase a licence.

Ive used the templates, but cant find a way to alter their text so they are not really any use.

This would be a potentially good product, if it did everything it claims.
The tutorials are dire however and I hate the way it tells you to calibrate movement, but wont tell you how, making it a pretty useless piece of software.

Hi,

First let me correct something. You can indeed upgrade to Crazytalk 5 Pro for a discount price. You do not need to own a previous version to upgrade to CT5 Pro. Once you have registered your copy of CT5 you can upgrade from your Premium Members page.

Also I have to say I think most of your problems are because you have yet to learn to use the software properly. It is easy to try and take everything in too quick and just get a little lost with how it all works.

For example Puppeterring does work in CT5 but you don't have the full solo feature control you have in the Pro version.

If you go to Script and click New to clear the timeline. Once you have added your audio you can start to use the Puppeteering panel. In CT5 (not Pro) you have 5 solo feature buttons. For example if you choose the Eyes and begin recording you can click the mouse button to make your character blink and move the mouse for eye movement.

From here you can add head movement, shoulder, mouth etc in exactly the same way and it will all be added to the motion file of your character.

You also mention robotic voices but you can record your own or anyone elses voice and use that. You don't have to just use TTS computer generated voices.

I think you just need to go through the manual slowly, especially the Getting Started section and you will soon learn how to use the program to its full capabilities. At the moment I think frustration is making you think things aren't working when they are.

Keep at it. You'll get it in the end.
