I am totally interested in purchasing motions - but I'm extrememly inexperienced in motion development and editing, and therefore too impatient to do all the handi-work to try and make them work. I would love to see you produce products that will work "out of the box" so to speak for iclone - no fixups - no editing - just import and go. If you were to do that, you'd find a constant customer in me.

Hi motherreiver,
I'm helping Joe out so that we can get the right skeleton working with Iclone, I'll keep you guys posted as soon as we have a plug and play formula/motions.

Here is an Iclone tutorial and 2 sample files to show that it is working.

Hey Joe!

Don´t work yet man! The feets are twisted and there is some crazy moviments at arms at breakdance.bvh.
In Other bvh the feets are twisted too and the arms shaking at start.
The mocap velocity is very slow when the play begin inside iClone.

I´m starting to believe there is some bug when save at vsn encripted format in iClone...
the bones look ok inside bvh converter
I start a topic here asking for a solution to realillusion. and i gave some ideas to solution the problem... please read.one of them is a idea to load the mocap inside motioneditor and break the first frame and edit the bones to find a right offsets work...

Alemar is correct, it looks like there is a problem with the export to iclone after the motions match in the converter. There are gimbal lock issues and pivot offsets on the rotations, creating all kinds of weird motions once imported into iclone. One thing I noticed however is that even thou the motions match after doing the offsets in the motion converter, the AXIS on each pivot do not. This could be because the motions are created with Y up instead of Zup or viceversa.

Reallusion, can you please take a look at these motion files and see if you can fix this problem when we export motions to Iclone.

Thanks,

Stuckon3d

Hi,

Reallusion is currently looking at different ways to improve the functionality of the BVH Motion Converter. Once more is known I will let you all know.

In the meantime any suggestions you may have on how the converter can be improved will be greatly appreciated. I'll make sure the team get to hear your suggestions.

Keep Me Posted,

What is the most compatible conversion process, Would that be the Michael Character in Poser 7?

If so let me know because I am willing to retarget the Motions to Iclone format by any means.

I am getting a huge amount of requests for these motions.

Thanks again and Cheers

I am hardly an expert on this subject, but I have been reading the IClone help file. In Adding Motion to Character, Motion, Using BVH motion converter, it says:

1. Use the Default Character named James in Poser.
2. Apply a motion clip to James.
3. Select File/Export/BVH motion... in the main menu bar.
4. Click Scale Automatically button and save the motion file.

Seems to me that if you can get your clips to work properly with James in poser, then you should be able to convert it to IClone. Hope this helps.

The BVH converter actually works better with the James poser 6 sp2 profile. I have tried for a long time to use these motions and I am experienced in BVH and mocap. Have expensive software to edit mocap and I've have not been able to use many of these motions without a lot of trouble and in most cases was only able to use a small percentage of motions from any pack I purchased.

Don't mean to knock your product but it just isn't iClone friendly so I truly hope with help from this group you can get a bvh converter profile that works. I have a lot of useless bvh files laying around that I have purchased from you. Would really like to use them so good luck with this.
