Hulloooo

I am on my 15 day trial with 3DXchange and my favourite model from Google 3D Warehouse is this one ---->

http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=7e4c6563bbb675b885f7a3de54751f1b&prevstart=0

The link *should* take you to : "Galleon with interior details" by loverevolutionary

Having successfully removed all the guns in Sketch Up 6, I have been trying to re-texture the sails. As this was taking such a long time, I decided to try to load the original, unedited model into 3DXchange.

The program returned a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error and could not import this particular model. Is this likely to be due to this specific design simply being too highly detailed for my system to handle ?

Does it work for anyone else ?

i got the same error

but then i was looking at it sketch up ...wow nice model ...but way to much detail ...there's locker doors and stairs with hand railings ...tables and chairs

the limit to 3dxchange is around 70000 faces

i would chop up the ship into pieces ( sails, exterior ship )

hope that helps

Doesn't work for me either. Same error message. Streamlining the model in Sketchup should help.

Thanks for having a look at the model.

I've decided to choose a yacht instead and to get my text seen by using the excellent rippling flags from the Reallusion add on pack.

I've just found that you can only really texture one side of these (if you back up a reversed text image flag onto a normally orientated one you get a bleed through)....
