Hi, First post here.
One of the new programs that was automatically installed yesterday with my new Magix Movie Editor 14 Pro Plus was ReAllusion iClone. I did not get any option and it installed itself on C:, taking nearly 500 MB. That partition is nearly full, which is why I always install new stuff on D:
So I uninstalled it and then ran the iClone installation from the Magix DVD. But it still gives me no opportunity to change the destination!
I could try just manually shifting the whole folder to C:\Program Files, but that will conflict with registry settings. How do I do this please?

| Hi, When you install you should see a screen like the one below. Just click the Browse button and choose D: as your install location instead. Remember to uninstall the version from the C: drive first.

| Just a little bit of caution Terry before you uninstall!! Make sure you have registered your iClone so you can get your serial number back before you go to install again on D: Drive. This may be obvious but it something people forget in hast!! Good Luck and Best wishes.

Thanks both, appreciate the prompt replies.
Peter,
Thanks, but as mentioned I don't get that standard opportunity. The Magix install DVD screen looks like this:

The iClone 2 SE link then starts the installation, with no option to change location.
I've also emailed Magix Support.
popeye,
Thanks for the tip. Looks like I did it correctly, because the About menu shows a serial number
(and 'Product Version : 2.1.1212.1').

| Hi Terry, Thanks for the update on the situation. I 'am not familiar with the installer version that is included in that package but I 'am very surprised there is no option to change the install location. Perhaps iClone is automatically installed in the same location as Magix which might be the problem. From your previous post I think you have tried locating just the iClone installer on the CD and installing from there, rather than through the Magix launcher. If not give that a go and see if it works. Hopefully you will hear back from Magix about how you can resolve the problem as it is installed from their launcher on the CD so they should know. I hope you get this resolved soon.

Thanks Peter.
All the Magix components gave me the opportunity to change, and I installed them on D:
Whatever method I use, including installing just iClone, it doesn't make that option available. I thought I'd have success by opening the DVD with Explore and using the setup.exe from the iClone section, but that failed too. Gave me a message along the lines of "This is not a stand-alone program. The installation will be terminated."
Some poor DVD mastering by someone along the line.
Have now uninstalled iClone, but have contacted ReAllusion Support and hope to get some help there.

| I also just installed IClone when I got Magix Video Edit 14. It doesn't ask you where you'd like it installed. In fact, it doesn't even give you the option not to install it. IClone SE is always installed in the Program Files folder on Drive C:. And, yes, it takes up about 500 megs. I decided to take advantage of Magix's upgrade to the Studio version. I received a confirmation E-mail of my order but I have yet to receive the download link. I assume I'll have to uninstall the SE version before installing the Studio version. Magix should have made the installation an option, not mandatory. On the plus side, Magix's upgrade price from SE to Studio is $140 US. The Standard version is $55 US. Almost makes it worth buying Magix Video Edit 14. Bottom line is that when you buy Magix Video Edit 14, it will always install IClone SE in the Program Files folder of Drive C:, take up about 500 megs, and there's nothing you can do about it. Lance

| Hi Lance, Thanks for updating the situation with the Magix installer. Doesn't seem right not to offer a custom install option. When there are a number of applications to be installed having the option to choose what you want is a must. Pete
