Hey CCD!

We have a movie competition coming up, set to launch in early January. People who wish to participate in that competition are going to need content.

So, we turn to you, the Certified Content Developers, to create sci-fi content that we can market to the contestants! This is a great opportunity to create some awesome content and get some good sells from sci-fi hungering mutant contestants from Mars!

Oh, was that a little overboard? I guess I am just a little "too" excited about this new event.
(As you can see, I am a registered-member-card-carrying-sci-fi geek... and proud of it

So go check out the developer page, and check often, there is a CCD Sci-Fi Widget that will be updated weekly with new images, news and advice to get your rocket boosters burning... ok that was over the top, again... my apologies

Note: To see the Sci-Fi Widget, make sure you have Flash 10 Player updated and installed.

Sci-Fi has been beat to death! How about Realistic Movies, tired of Cartoons!

There is interesting sci-fi literature but it usually doesn't make it into movies.  Do people still read?

I'm interested in different perspectives and the definition of realistic in this case. I see Sci Fi as realstic but set in the future. Cartoon can be anything regrdless of the time setting. i.e. a Cartoon set in the ancient past or a cartoon set in the present. I can make a cartoon of my daughter doing her homework, it's still a cartoon.

It's only my opinion, but Sci Fi represents a genre of film with no more or less realism than any other movie depending on the artist or animator themselves.

By Realistic, are we referring to movies that are based in current ime, with current technology and sets versus the suspension of disbelief that typically goes with a Sci Fi flick?

As an avid Sci-fi nut, I'm extremely excited by this! The more sci-fi stuff, the better, imo!

i love sci-fi as it spans pretty much anything-
one can make a contemporary film with sci-fi undertones - does not have to be all outer space and robots

Even movies like Batman or Superman fall within the purview of Sci-Fi (The Batmobile is certainly an incredible machine of fantasy!) !!! I would be really excited if someone created the Batman Utility belt with AML gadgets attached!

Does anybody have any "screenies" they want to share?!
