Nowadays, Reallusion is creating Iclone 7. They have been adding a lot of improvements mainly from a visual viewpoint. These improvements are awesome, but I think it would be necessary to add other features to iclone.


· Fluids: When will we have a fluids dynamics simulation system? (using nvidia physx, for example) 
· Hair: Hair is available in iclone, but you can not create hair on everything (Really, you can create hair, but you need a design software). For example, hair on a dog.

I think these features are important for iclone. Will be these features incluided in iclone 7?

Rather than have RL reinventing the wheel, it would be great if iClone could somehow benefit from the experience of the Houdini developers. Houdini 16 is amazing from what I have seen, and it would be hard to beat that. It is not something that you develop and add overnight.

While it's no fluid sim, the upcoming v7 does allow morph animation, which will give us a lot more ways to fake it, using an ocean mesh animation made with Blender for example will be easy, and the latest demo video posted by RL shows a water drop, that's pretty basic but still, it is at least something in that direction. I really want to see the hair tech updated though, I think graphically that is a big sore spot for iClone still.

RL allows Alembic export, maybe 3DXchange 7 will allow Alembic import so you could create the fluid somewhere else like Blender and import it that way. 

Houdini has those Houdini tools that work in Unity and stuff, I could see RL getting that.

And as someone mentioned, there will be an open API for people to make thigns, so you can expect tons of things to pop up if people make them. And they'll probably be in the marketplace.

As someone already mentioned an Alembic import option that can handle variable size geometry would be perfect for fluids as you could import fluids from Blender, Houdini and so on, as for hair, I use this Blender plugin Blender HairMesher which produces really good results very quick.

Do you have any demo of the hair in iClone? The plugin looks good, just before I pull the trigger, I would like to know what the whole pipeline looks like.

OK, I just took a leap and bought the addon. Now to get my hands dirty, or my feet wet, or whatever. The ability to generate bones was a big turn on.

EDIT: ok, I can generate basic ghair, the documentation for this is pretty thin, do you have good steps for importing it into CC? I'm getting a 'failed to load' error when I try importing. Thanks very much for pointing this out.

AND another edit: I figured out it was the scalp I created through duplicating part of the scalp that was the issue, I just deleted that and exported, and all is well now. I'll move on to perfecting the styling portion now, this is so damn cool Smile It is much, much, much easier than some of the other methods for creating hair mesh in Blender that I've come across. Yipee!

This is the first test run once I figured out the basics of the addon. It isn't terrible, it is probably already way better than I could do by hand, and it took like all of 5 minutes to make, now that I have the process. A little more time spent and it could be a lot better, but it is just as easy now to start from scratch, it is a FAST workflow. Anyhow, I give the addon a hearty 5 stars and a very well spent $15.
