| | While the exchange rate influences the price it isn't a straight conversion from dollars to pounds. I'm afraid only Element 5 could explain the exact calculation but there are other factors in play here. Just look for example at the new Playstation 3 Slim. In the US it costs $299.99 and in the UK it is £249.99. Prices are rarely just a straight conversion, if only they were. Unless you can pay in dollars you are going to pay more in the UK. it's a sad fact of life I'm afraid.

| But Im not buying a product on sale in the uk at a different price im buying a $199 content that has VAT put on it at the german rate, so if there is a different price for the content excluding the vat for british buyers it should be clearly stated. plus the cost of delivery to a uk buyer costs no more than it does for a american so that isn't putting another £25 onto your content.
This makes no sence at all. |

| Plus you say the conversion rate is only part of the calculation well iv been monitoring the conversion rate over the last 2.22 mins its changed 3 times but the price from Element 5 has not it seems to me that Element 5 have set their own conversion rate and are sticking to it.

| I agree it doesn't make sense but as I mentioned previously the best people to ask would be Element 5 (Digital River) themselves. They should be able to explain the calculation they use in converting from dollars to pounds. Alternatively please contact esales[at]reallusion.com who should be able to help you get an answer to this.

| | Thank you I will, but I will say that REALLUSION need to make it clear that the price for British buyers is totally different to an American buyer and that an extra £25 can be placed onto their order ontop of the 19% VAT. |

| | Ya, Element 5 is pretty dicey, and I don't know why Reallusion doesn't tie up with somebody else. There are more threads in this forum complaining about Element 5's calculations. I remember when I was fresh to Reallusion and bought my first iClone from Daz, the money charged seemed so ridiculous that I raised a row at the Daz forum, mistakenly thinking that it was Reallusion's fault. After a round of letters with the sales team it became pretty clear that it was Element 5 using the exchange rates against me, converting to Indian rupees when that was good for them and to USD when that was good for them. After that row, it seems the automatic calculation and offer by Element 5 to pay in my local currency has gone away thankfully. Now, I always stay careful about selecting USD as the currency to pay in from the top right hand corner, and at least the overcharging has stabilized to a great extent. Don't know whether this relates to your problem, just shared my experience. Regards Surajit

| It helps to know Im not the only one who is far from happy about the "Hidden" charges. I also feel that I am being denied access to content I want due the the excessive cost involved, this is the 4th or more time I have come away from the content store not getting the content I want.
To put this into context I saved up £320 ($470 ish) when I saw there was to be a new version of Iclone, this was to cover the cost of upgrading and to get the tank bundle Iv had my eye on coming to a total of $350 with £320 I dididn'tave enough... WHY.
I also feel that my anger over this issue is detracting from my enjoyment of a excellent software package, I use Iclone more than any other software and have devoted 1 machine over to its use.
I have bought a large amount of content from Reallusion and wish to continue to do so but now I really have to look at the ivestment iv made in the program against how much its going to cost in the future and wether it would be more cost effective to buy a more expensive package like Machinema Pro. |
