| | Hi. I already sent a copy of this topic to the support team, but i would like to know if anyone else is experiencing the same BIG problem. I don´t get it, i really need help. There is a serious problem with PopVideo Converter. Let me try to explain because my englih isn´t that good: I bought Pop Video Converter half an hour ago. I just need it to import videos into iclone.
I tried to make a my first popvideo to use in iclone. But after i imported my green screen video followed with the masked video, when i click convert, it starts converting but it seems that is only converting the audio and finishes quite fast (wich i thought very strange). Then, when i went looking for the resulting popvideo file, there was none. I also can´t find the custom data folder for POP VIDEO i specifically decided where to put when i fisrt installed the product. I tried everything: Unisnstalling, restarting the computer, re-downloading and all. And it does the same (or better, it doesn´t do a thing) with iWidget. I don´t know what to do. Did i spend my money in a bad software? One more thing: I also tried to reisntall, this time choosing the POP VIDEO CONVERTER VERSION ONE (before they made the new patch) and testing it. I then got the i widget working with my video (altough i still can´t find the custom data folder...but at least it made the i widget and i can see the file). I then installed the patch for the 1.15 version, and i got back to the beginning problem. Can´t make pop video or iWidget. PLEASSSE HELPPPPP...i really need this, and i bought it especially fro the pop video...i have no interest in iwidget. If i was interest i iwidget i would be happy with version one. I THINK THE PROBLEM IS WITH VERSION 1.15. Please check this if you have version 1.15. and tell me what happen with you. Thanks a lot. I´m a bit disapointed at this time. |

| PopVideo v1.5 is now available to download. If you run LiveUpdate from your Start Menu you will be prompted to install it. I would ensure you have the latest version and see if this helps with the problems you are having.

| | your not understanding. ok it´s my mistake when i talked about a version 1.15 as i meant 1.5, but i clearly say in my post: "I then installed the patch for the 1.15 version, and i got back to the beginning problem..." I reinstalled everything (VERSION 1.5...the latest one) and the problem is exactly the same. O even tried with green screen footage taken from the net, and once again the same problem. There is no resulting POP VIDEO. Reallusion asked me to send them some footage and i sent them already. I´m now waiting for an answer but i clearly think that the problem is 1) the software has a serious bug or 2) I´m making something wrong on my system (wich i seriously doubt). |

| | Hi, Firstly the problem with the video may be down to the codec being used or incorrect settings in the Mask Video.. PopVideo Convertor supports AVI and WMV but you should try a different codec or format if the video you are trying to use is not converting correctly. The default location of the popVideos is shown below: c:\program files\reallusion\shared\shared templates\video This is where iClone4 or WidgetCast will look for it's saved popVideos. I would try just converting any video you may have just so you understand how the process works. You don't need to have a Mask Video to test the program. Just use a source video. Once you know it works you can try to move on to adding the Mask Video. Remember that the type, length and frames per second of the mask video must match exactly that of the source video for it to convert correctly.

| Experiencing the same issue Peter. It appears to be creating popvideos, but it writes nothing! In other words, it makes you think it is writing a file, but a thorough search of the system cannot locate the file it is supposed to be writing. I think this would be considered a bonafide bug.
The iWidget conversion portion still works, but it would be nice if doing one sequence after another, the settings wouldn't continually default back to 1 FPS and change to *.popvideo as the default. Perhaps a configuration settings option for setting the defaults a user likes would be effective.
On the good side it does more consistently allow previews after the conversion more so than version 1.0.

| | Well Peter, it seems i´ m not the only one complaining about the same problem. Can you please inquire what happens. It´s really annoying buying a software that just do not work. And it has nothing to do with video quality..i did tests with beautiful hi-def video. |

| Follow-up...It appears to write the files now...
I didn't change anything in my system that I'm aware of, so I can't say why. Really strange what these computers do at times.

I have personally tested popVideo Convertor and for me it is working fine as it is for most others. It may be worth (if you haven't already) uninstalling and downloading the latest version again from your Account. You may find that this makes a difference. Remember also that for one to one support you should contact Technical Support who will look into this and reply to you personally. | I found a possible issue, (for WINXP users who refuse to upgrade to SP3 because of it's crashing on AMD processors- ME for one)
I kept doing a search for the popVideo file extensions and gave up with the system not recognizing the file name;
I did a search of the Windows Web site for a new desktop search engine which is not often mentioned or even advertised, and it does find the popVideo extension files on my system without question. It takes a while to index the system, but it does find the 7 digit file name extension.
Available here ( http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/desktopsearch/getitnow.mspx ) if someone wants to try it.
PopVideo Converter was writing the files the whole time, the system just didn't recognize them as a valid file with the popVideo extension. Don't know why the default system search doesn't recognize the file name, but it doesn't.
This should help support with a possible solution.
