| | stickon3d, I looks like my original test was not set up properly. After using self-cast shadows and adjusting a few parameters, everything is working as expected. Thanks again for your assistance. |

| Most of the faces in my arsenal are working fine, but something very strange happens when I use this face:

Where is that shiny looking helmet thing coming from?

Where is that shiny looking helmet thing coming from? Hi Dulci, File must have got corrupted in some way. Very strange, I haven't seen that one before. Are you able to re-save the head or attach it to a different avatar without the "attachment"?

| MelHolden (11/7/2009) Is it legal to share a default vns character.Yes it is perfectly ok to share customized default content* with other iClone users. For example, if you created a custom body shape for Trey or Violet and wanted to share it, then you can do that. Obviously you can't do this with any characters from purchased content packs or BackStage. *Default content is anything that is supplied with all versions of iClone.

| Something odd happened today. My 'Move' gadget disappeared. The 'Resize' and 'Rotate' ones still worked, but the 'Move' one stubbornly refused to show itself (for any of the props in my scene). I can't tell you why it happened (the series of events), but I can tell you that quitting iClone and restarting solved it.
Just thought I'd mention it, and if I see it occur again, I'll post an update with (hopefully) more useful data).
iClone 4.02, of course.

| I have a couple of new issues. One is definitely a bug, but the other might just be something I'm doing wrong.
First, I'm experiencing crashes about 50% of the time whenever I click or dbl-click on the diffuse map icon in the avatar's upper/lower body. Second, I am having an impossible time getting particles to work the way I want when using the Jet particle effect. When the Jet particle is attached to my fighter model and the model is stationary, the effect looks perfect. However, when the model is moving, the particles spread out all over the place and look really bad. See the attached video for an example. At the beginning of the video, the model and attached effect are moving and at the end, the fighter stops moving. You'll see the effect I am trying to achieve when the fighter is stationary. Now, I've done a fair amount of 3D programming for the past 8 years and I've done stuff like this with moving models and atatched jet streams without this kind of breakdown so I believe it should work as I expect. If not, how can I get the desired effect on a moving object?

Please provide more information. 1) We are wondering the problem occurs if you apply a particular avatar or every template avatars can repeat this issue. 2) We wonder if you could provide more detail about your problem and how you operate the programme until encountered the problem. Please list steps as possible as you could. 3) If it is any particular avatar or project, please provide your project file to us. You may attach it in this ticket. If the size is too large, please send the file to our Gmail: reallusion@gmail.com. After uploading, please inform me. Note: We suggest upgrading the graphics card driver to the latest version. About your other issue, you can try to adjust particle life and emitter settings such as Quota, Emitter Rate…etc. After doing adjustments, the results would be better.
Yours sincerely,

| | Updating my graphics driver might have solved my first issue, but only time will tell. I tried it a few times and no crashes yet. As far as my second issue, I think you are missing the point. The particles look fine when the vehicle is at rest and they go all wrong when the vehicle is in motion. If I could somehow get them to look right when in motion then they'd likely look wrong when at rest. Anyway, I spent about an hour tweaking every particle parameter there is and couldn't get it working even close to the at-rest effect. I eventually gave up trying. |
