Hi,

I've currently being evaluating iClone and messing about with it's features. In general, it seems it's almost what I'm looking for to do what I'm endeavouring to do.

However, I have one issue. That issue is with the quality of the render output, which IMO isn't great. I've been looking around some screenshots on this forum and they all seem to show the result I'm hoping for. Unfortunately, I've been unsuccessful in getting the look I want.

Does the render quality and functionality improve in the pay versions of the software?

Am I able to use an external renderer (e.g. REnderman)?

Can someone point me to some resources to help me with my issues.

Thank you kindly.

Majikat.

Thanks for a reply.

Here's a link to a post in this forum with a couple of renders that I think are quite good

http://forum.reallusion.com/Topic16182-14-1.aspx?

And here's a test render of a character I exported from Daz 3D. This I think is fairly poor. Granted, I haven't lit it properly. Ignoring the clothes on the texture and looking at the face and comparing to the post above, I see a big difference in quality.

iclone is pretty flexible so a lot of dependency on lighting as well as texture maps you use - choosing hi res face maps with normal and specularity maps and lighting them appropriately will provide good results.

IClone does not have a ray trace enginer but it has a lot of features that can simulate ray trace like appearance

Hi ,

strange result which you have Marc.
same Victoria with Iclone at home .

If you import Victoria as prop , don't forget to "smooth auto " .

Tninity and Victoria , they know each other (click on the thumbmail for little animation )
