| | Hi If this sounds an easy one to answer, sorry. But given that you can use the display as in the presentation Demo etc. What is the exact use of the billboards as I have found that the finish of them when rendered is not all that good? or have I missed something. Can't find any reference to them at all Thanks in advance Pete |

| Generally speaking, the billboards are for use in a project where there my be camera motion but you want to keep an item visible (Sign) regardless of the position of the camera as long as it can be seen in the view window.
Billboards always face the camera, even though the texture is only on one side. Regardless of it's position (X,Y,Z) it will always face the camera. It used to be in the help files (F1), but it may have been bypassed or omitted in an update depending on your version.

| i also use billboard as a way to have background objects that don't take up too much of my pc's resources
for example for a crowd scene in background, i create a billboard prop out of a picture of one character and make it look as if there are a cast of thousands - see example below
