| Peter Edwards (9/10/2009) Interesting Fact #5In iClone4 the hard edge look where water meets terrain can now be softened with the Edge Softness slider. Just adjust the slider in the Water Modify Panel to get a more realistic and natural effect. That feature has just tipped the scales for me, I shall upgrade after all
Kind regards,Alex |

| | This is a nice feature if your working with 1 monitor. Fortunately I use 2 monitors and slide the timeline over to monitor two, which makes working much easier. What I would like in ic4 is: 1. Easier ways to place props in an exact position and angle. 2. Larger "UP and DOWN" buttons and larger scroll buttons. 3. Easier way to make clothes.

| | Wouldn't it be neat if we could edit the UV of the clothes right in iclone kind of like we can do with the face. I mean we can still go in our own photo ptogram for advanced work, but it'd still be neat and we could see it in realtime. |

I agree on that. I'm not hopeless at using a graphics program, but styles and templates within iclone itself would be nice. Then the ability to upload directly to the store here in tidy little package.
I'd also like to see a wall and door building option like the one in the original Sims game. Where you could just draw walls then it would automatically cut holes for windows and doors.

That would be a big step ahead and save a lot of time for me. Good idear.

| Interesting Fact #1
In iClone4 you can now dock the Timeline to the bottom of the screen by double clicking the top left of the timeline window.
This is a great addition, dock that timeline for easy editing!
Interesting Fact #2
You can reverse a motion file by right clicking on the motion track of the Timeline and select Reverse.
Another nice one. Sometimes things just look better running backwards!!
Interesting Fact #3
No two characters in iClone4 have to look the same. Just set the Variation Slider to the desired amount and hit Randomize. You can have an endless suppy of different characters at the click of a button.
Hopefuly This can be wonderfull or just vapour! All characters look much alike in our iCLONE
Interesting Fact #4
Want to move and rotate the camera but find the movement a little jerky. No problem in iClone4 with the new Smooth Camera Movement option. This automatically generates the correct smooth path for the selected camera.
This one is really huge! Go away jerky camera
Interesting Fact #5
In iClone4 the hard edge look where water meets terrain can now be softened with the Edge Softness slider. Just adjust the slider in the Water Modify Panel to get a more realistic and natural effect.
Cool but not the most wonderfull feature
Interesting Fact #6
For those that prefer to use keyboard shortcuts, you can use the Application Key on your keyboard to bring up the Right Click menu. Pressing it will open the menu in the top left of the Preview window.
I do love shortcuts. Productivity is key
Interesting Fact #7
The iClone4 Preview Window now provides a visualized Gizmo for modifying Rotate, Scale and Transform of the selected object. You can turn on the Gizmo in Preferences or by pressing CTRL-Q.
BIG. HUGE. AWESOME
Interesting Fact #8
iClone4 now has a Glare feature to apply different lens effects to your scenes. Select one of the dropdown options, then simply adjust the slider to get the desired effect.
I really really hope that this glare can put some spark in the output scenes that simply look to much like a video game. Post processing can be done, we all know that, put the master footage being a little bit more..."dirt" can really help creativity.
Then there are some interesting facts that I would love to ear about, like:
1. Enhaced camera FOV (the actual is... more or less)
2. Enhaced Timeline
3. More facial features
4. Better animation controls
And thats it.
Cheers |

| Well as far as a video gamy look... the newer video games actually look really nice.
But I do like the camera effects and they do make the picture look a lot nicer. |
