| | I haven't had a lot of problems with Iclone crashing except when I have a huge set with lots of animation and props which I tend to do when I make films. However, I have a scene where I have five men all riding horses and two carts with horses attached. The scene keeps crashing. Is there anything I can do about this? And I get a weird thing going on before it crashes. I get the message "Do you want to save" or something to that effect and then the program stalls before it crashes as soon as I click on the farm horse. This only happens with I have more than 6 horses on a set. And it happens on an empty set too. Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. This is a great program. |

| Try hiding assets you aren't using or editing. Keep them hidden, then when you export, check the box to tell iClone to render hidden items, and that may solve what appears to be a memory or temporary cache space error.

| | Thank you so much. I never thought of doing that and I will try it and let you know if it works. |

| | Use Task Manager to check iClone's memory usage; this will also tell you if hiding objects makes any difference. Somehow I seem to remember it didn't. I used to have crashes and it was often due to memory usage. Textures in particular seem to use a lot of memory, I found. You can control this somewhat by reducing the maximum texture size in the settings, but that is at the expense of picture quality. Although iClone is not a 64-bit program, moving to 64-bit Vista gave me a huge improvement. There is also a "trick" posted on the forum to have iClone see more memory. |

| It works perfect. I was able at least to have 6 men on horses each and two carts with hiorses pulling them. The army I am doing in greenscreen as it balked when I tried to add the walking men.

| So, at least the majority of your problem seems to be fixed. That's a step in the right direction anyway.

| Iclone is only using 50% of memory and I have all other non-essential programs as well as my internet browser closed when i am using it. It is the textures on my props as I create many custom props. However, I am using Iclone materials. Should i reduce the size of those materials texture images?
And is there a link to the trick of releasing more memory for Iclone? I also got another 1000 gig hrd drive so I now have 2000 gigs of hard drive space however, larger hard drives slow the computer too. |

| Lowering the resolution of your viewing screen "inside" iClone using preference helps. When you render it, put it out in best quality, and you shouldn't sacrifice on rendering quality.
