Hope someone can help! I have CrazyTalk 6 Standard.

When animating 2 characters in the "Timeline" tab, crazytalk mutes the voice of the character I am not animating which means I have to guess from memory what the other character is saying at what moment. This makes it hard to properly animate the characters to react to eachother. Is there a way I can hear the voices of BOTH characters while I am animating each one of them?

Thanks!

Hi,

There are a few ways to get around this depending on the type of audio you are working on.

If you are using a piece of pre-recorded audio with two characters talking then you can separate the two voices with an audio editor such as the free Audacity. Then the timing will be spot on when you add each voice to the characters.

If you are using text to speech voices or recording your own voice(s) then you can break the script up into smaller parts and work with these. For example in a two person conversation, you could record character ones first bit of speech, then save this. Then add the second persons response and so on. This way you will have many sections of script in Stage which you can position perfectly to get a good flowing conversation.

You can also simply jot down the times of the gaps in speech when previewing character one and use this as a guide when working with character two. This will work as long as there isn't too much fast interaction going on between the characters.

Thanks for your answer, I appreciate it! I use Audacity for the voices and don't have a problem splitting the tracks, importing them, and recording the animation for each separate character... my problem is that while I am animating one character the voice for the other one mutes so I can't make them interact like I'd hoped (since I have to guess what the muted character is saying). However while I haven't figured out how to not make the voice mute, I found a way to hear both voices at the same time...I added the one wav track from Audacity (with both characters voices) as a background/music track, so now I can hear what they are both saying. When I'm done and ready to save everything I'll just delete the background/music track.

Do you have any advice for my other question? This one I cannot figure out no matter what I do: http://forum.reallusion.com/Topic24408-21-1.aspx

Thx!
