| hi, I'm wondering if someone can help me, I searched help to no avail,my reallusion shared content folder in public documents while not massive, nonetheless takes up quite a bit of my limited inbuilt harddrive about 7gb I only have 50gb left. I store all my videos, daz studio content(it searches for it), etc on an external harddrive and would like to do the same with iclone, how do I create a path in the program so it will do this? settings doesn't seem to contain this option, I can move my project files and browse for them but not other content like avatars, props etc, I have lots of models imported with 3dexchange the largest component, plus avatars I have customised, I only have a laptop. I am also not exactly a geek more of an oldieish with somewhat limited pc skills though I try a lot of stuff I read online in forums and often it works though I really don't understand how, the nuts and bolts stuff. cheers wendy5 |

| While you are working on a project, save it on the active drive...when finished, move it to the archive folder and you can still open it in the future by double clicking on it. You of course can save it as you change it to the external drive, but will need to use the TOOLS option to do that.
See the attached image.
I created a folder on the external drive. Custom Archives
Created a shortcut on the desktop to reach it without having to open the iClone program initially because you can double-click any iClone Project and iClone will open it automatically.
Open iClone and set the Tools Open Project option to the path you will be using...the path is remembered the next time you use it.
You can transfer any of your projects and custom folders to the external drive that you want to maintain your library on and it doesn't take a lot of fiddling around with the system registry which could cause you problems later on anyway..
Cricky (Leave me a voice mail if you like.)
If you hover over the Clips below that Pop up...you get a Preview

Visconti explained how to do this by editing the registry. http://forum.reallusion.com/Topic8164-83-1.aspx Please be aware that editing certain parts of the registry could lead your system to be unusable. Only make the changes explained in the above topic.
