go to steam, and check out the free to play area, some really good freebies being posted there - I just added this one yesterday https://www.fracturedspace.com/ for their really nice space battle effects! waiting to see what their EULA on youtube videos is though, everyone says it's ok but no formal comment in the eula.

@hattori - i was checking out youtube videos on it, seems to depend on what cams are available ....the upclose shots looked cheezy'ish - but from a distance with the flares and the particle effects it looks really nice!

I have it in my library to download, letting my computer recover from that insane 60 gig gta v download - about to check out their editor, but apparently I have to play a few to unlock characters and items first. GTA5 is a creepy game imo the graphics are pretty amazing, and usually with pvp, i'm hunting monsters ....or in a war vs low poly opponents ...shooting magic at them...not very attached to reality, but gta 5 - looks like you are playing a film really killing people. I want to say wow, cool...but i think my adult side is kicking in after reading so much bad news on cnn.

I was going to try star citizen but they seemed to be pretty strict on youtube. I'm trying to focus on games that are youtube friendly, so I can do let's play music videos.

My older son would be one of those who spent money on Star Citizen, contributing to their "crowd funding" business model.  It's still in "Alpha" mode of development, not even Beta yet.  So he didn't "buy" it, exactly.

He likes it.

Maybe it's not that much different from some of us spending money on iClone.

Guess these are worth checking out. I haven't touched a pc game for ages.
There aren't any genre that appeals to me on the pc. Most of them are fps games.
Fracturedspace fills the sci fi craving I have. Its on early access
But that person that backed starcitizen with 22k for an alpha game is crazy.
