| | I toyed around with the demo version for a few days and I didn't have any problems with it, but after I purchased the pro version and installed it I'm having problems with the heads. If I add a head that the package didn't come with - one I created or one I downloaded as a freebie addon the face either turns all black or green with purple stripes. I didn't change anything when I installed the pro version except uninstalling the demo version. Now I did try unintalling the pro version then reinstalling it and that didn't help. Also, if I try to add a freebie character I downloaded they come out with their heads the same way - black or green with purple stripes. I'm hoping someone else has had this problem or knows how to fix it. Thank you!

| This may be a Pixel Shader issue. Have you got your preferences set to Pixel Shader and not Quick Shader? This is assuming your graphics card supports Pixel Shader?

| It's not set to Pixel Shader because my graphics card won't support it.

It's not set to Pixel Shader because my graphics card won't support it. Try making sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card. This may make a difference.

| | My drivers are all updated. Might it have something to do with the fact that I couldn't find my graphics card in the iClone list of graphics cards and what they do? It's a bit outdated, about 4 years old. It's an ATI Raedon 200 series. Could someone recommend a graphics card that would work better with iClone? I run Windows XP, if that makes a difference. Thank you!

| I suppose any of the cards from this list (with the pixel shader capability) may be good. If you look at the pdf (graphic cards comparability table) link just below it, I found that none of the Radeon cards are supported so that could be a big issue. I personally have the nVIDIA 8500 and that works fine.
Also, I posted on the TMU forum a question about whether you have installed all of the patches for iClone as well - up to version 3.2C. If not, maybe that is contributing to the problem? |

| I replied to the TMU forum before I saw that you replied here too. I'm looking at a GeForce 9800 GT, but I don't know a lot about graphics cards so I'm not sure if it will be compatable with my PC. I hope so because it looks very nice, especailly compared to what I'm running now. I've only done the last update, but not the earlier two. On a seperate note, does iClone have a green screen, I know it's called something esle, but basically I want to film a character and just have the character show up so I can put him in another film reel from another program?

| The 9800 should be work well for you. I remember reading somewhere that it is the second number that is most important. The '8' makes it better. Like if you had an 8800 and an 9200, the 8800 would have been better or more powerful.
As for the green screen, iClone doesn't have one but you could easily make your own. Funnily enough, I just made one two weeks ago but it takes seconds. Go to your "Props", "3D Blocks" and down to the walls and floors. Add a floor and a wall to your scene and adjust the size/position accordingly. Then in any graphic editor ie photoshop, just make a little square of green with the shade of green being red=0, green=255, blue=0. Then in the diffuse layer of both the wall and floor, just apply your green square et voila! Then all you have to do is fiddle with the set lighting to decrease the shadowed difference between the wall and the floor so that it looks like a uniform shade of green. Attach the two together and save it in your custom props for use whenever you need it.
Hope that helps!

| | If you could send me yours that would be excellent! sbmartinbooks@live.com if you need an email. See, I've been working on a feature length movie I adapted from my novel. It's a fantasy film and I'm using Moviestorm too, but ms doesn't have any fantasy type props or characters and no animations that will work. I had someone helping me out with another program, but he got bogged down. That's the main reason I bought iClone. I just need certain characters - a werewolf, mummy, and very strange wizard. I'll need more later, but these are for the first 30 minutes. I've got all the filming done in ms I just need to make the characters and film them with thier lines doing their "parts" then I can put them into the scenes using an editor. With the face creator, could I take pictures of my moviestorm characters and create the faces on iClone characters?

| Alrighty, I'll send it your way. And as for the faces, yeah just take a still of their faces and create a new one in iClone. |
