Thanks Shy

And this is to Pete too, friend. If this size limitation of 10 mb was mentioned anywhere prior to clicking on the final submission button and getting shocked, then I would have approached my content development in a different manner. Wouldn't have lost days and weeks building a mega pack and collecting, numbering, organizing each piece, with forming promo images.

Now I am again wasting time rebuilding and reorganizing everything.

The upload limit is vital information that should have been notified on the submission guidelines itself.

PS I am still to receive any response from Reallusion, and it has been more than 24 hours, but this forum not only solved my problem but put me in the right direction regarding my product in a jiffy. It feels great to be part of this community.

Hi Surajit,

Apologies for the delay in getting a reply. Unfortunately for most of the Reallusion team it is a national holiday and they are taking a well earned break. It may be early next week before you hear something I'm afraid.

You are absolutely right Surajit. If there are limitations on file size then it should be clearly stated. I'll pass on your views and hopefully this can be corrected very soon.

Thanks for the feedback.

I think increasing the upload limitation is necessary.  There are more and more creative developers who have made very good content and require more size than 10 MB.

However, before the increase of upload size limitation, please contact reallusion at developer@reallusion.com and tell them about the file size problem.  They will find a way to resolve your problem.

Hi dude,

I mailed to reallusion before making this post. I guess the staff are on a weekend leave and there is some kind of national holiday.

Notifying of the upload size limitation in the submission guidelines itself saves a lot of time and energy for developers, especially those who are new.

If reallusion is in a crunch for space and time to accept content we would all like to help out.

You can send the content over to me and I'll start selling from my sites. It would clearly be a win-win situation, since reallusion employees would come under less stress for accounting and handling unwelcome content, and company servers would also be relieved if part of their load is shared. If too much money is causing accounting problems you can send some over to me, I'll put it to use for the needy.

Also it would be nice if you read the entire thread before either opining or advicing. Your advice is valuable.

Regards

Hi friends,

Zack answered this morning. It is what has already been suggested by Pete and Shy, but here again it is from the horse's mouth -

"You will have to break them into smaller packs and create a series. Or, if you wish to only have one pack, then you need to set up an FTP account so that we can download your files manually, then you can fill out the submission form again, but this time, only place a 0KB Zip file in the file section. Then after you create the pack via submission form, we can manually place your files into your pack after review.

So you can decide, either have a few smaller packs in a series, or one large pack."

Hope that helps anybody who faces similar problems and searches the forum.

However, that still doesn't solve the problem of the information being contained in the submission guidelines itself for the help of newcomers.

Thanks to all for great support.

Regards

Surajit

Hi Surajit!   Hi all folks"

I got to tell you something...   Tamin is a HE not a SHE!

I wonder if he reads this thread and finds he is a "sweetie hearty lady" he might not get in the mood to download any stuff....   Just a joke!

But HE indeed is a very kind, gentle and attentive male person and will take care of your submission properly.

The best thing to do is fill ONE form and include one ZIP file named dummy, with a text file in it, asking for instructions on how to actually upload the material.  Tamin will take care of setting the proper media for the transfer.

Or, as I do, I created an FTP (a regular CCD should have one anyway, as you might need to send things to clients) and include the FTP instructions in the ZIP text file.

I would warn you there might be a high level of submissions going on, since the last turmoil about store policies.  And I don't thing Tamin's office has gotten any larger.

Uploading by FTP is about 100 times faster than the submission page!!!!!    Make a note on this Pete.    Maybe RL wants to hear about it.   Why not creating an upload FTP at the submission end?   It would be so easy.

The small, midget submission times are gone.  SkirtMagic is a 70 mb sized submission!!!!!

Take care, you all!

Is no one able to use yousendit.com or something like it to upload submissions? It seems like it would make life easier for both sides.
